** PRE ORDER YOUR NEXT GENERATION CONSOLE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK **

its a nice thought but businesses dont tend to do that.

look guys, i will be honest with you.

we had two options.

1. £20-£50 pre order place holders
2. match major competitors place holder price.

we chose the second. its simple as that.

you can always order closer to the time when it will be updated with official pricing once announced, the place holder places are there for people who want their names first on the list.

personally i wouldnt stand outside a highstreet store for days waiting to be the first to get the new console, but other people do and I can appreciate why.

there are some people who want to avoid that faff entirely and just get their order in first, avoid the queues, beat the demand and have a guaranteed console on day one with no drama.

this is for them.

guys, if the price bothers you, hold fire until we have official pricing.

My estimate personally is that if the major competition are pricing it at this sort of level for a place holder, then it wont be that much cheaper.

But you're the only company as far as I know that take the money now. The other places that are doing a placeholder are taking the money when they ship the console. I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but it doesn't look great compared to your competitors who wait until launch to take the money.

It's in incredibly bad taste, and it is a big deal, as has been mentioned, to pre-order basically means giving OcUK an interest free loan for x amount of months.

Xbone watches you, it will detect if "unknown" people enter the room and ask them for their details and create a user account for them.

Along with all the others taking stuff as gospel that MS is refusing to comment on. Like resale game price.

MS have already commented on resale price of used games. I am sure I saw that recent games will be near full price and games as they get older will drop in price in an interview.

At least with the 360 you could buy a game, finish it in a week and get most of your money back. Nobody is going to buy it from you if the used game premium from MS is 90% of the original price.

.

No they haven't, they have said lots of scenarios have been discussed, but ATM no details will be released.
Lots of people taking speculation along with a few miss quotes and throwing toys out of the pram. At least keep hold of the toys till e3 and hopefully more details.

"We know there is some confusion around used games on Xbox One and wanted to provide a bit of clarification on exactly what we’ve confirmed today. While there have been many potential scenarios discussed, today we have only confirmed that we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail.

Beyond that, we have not confirmed any specific scenarios.

Another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile."

I imagine it is also less faff when it comes to ship the things as you dont need to chase people for the rest of it which causes even more confusion/delays when sending out all these orders

exactly. refunding people is easier than chasing for more money.

which is why we chose option two.

the refunds will take place as soon as official pricing is announced.

yes, i am aware of that. but that is the system in place and i sadly have to work with it.

it sucks, i agree. but i am a product manager, not a website coder or a company director so these are not changes i am able to influence.

however, I will be passing info onto management from this thread.

OcUK take feedback on board, no matter if good or bad.

they also reply to their customer base well outside work hours :)

I get it.

you don't like it.

Is 5UB round at your house trying to take your credit card off you or something? :p

Nobody cares what you think.

thats just not very nice now is it?

Will orders be sent out so people receive the console on release day?

Hi JP

yes, all of our console games and hardware are sent out to customers prior to launch to ensure that they arrive on the day of launch.

[this is on the proviso that the customer has paid for/chosen a next day service within their region]

He's doing that face through my living room window waving a card reader about.

No but really, the main issue is that, do you honestly expect people to make pre-orders here when they are charged £600 up front, have to wait an undetermined amount of time before they see a refund that reflects the actual price, when they can pre-order from other sites with a small deposit or no up front payment at all?

If you can't compete with the other companies for whatever reason, why bother even taking pre-orders for it at all?

that makes more sense now

I bloody hate it when he does that face.

Also, every Xbox One Pre order from OcUK comes with an rjkoneill guarantee that 5UB will not come near your house and do that face
