Pre-season Friendlies - Summer 2023

Yes but has illustrated how strong Arsenal's squad is on paper. No youth being brought on for them. Forgot they had Jorginho!

They kept most of their team on from the first half no? They are slowly changing it but still.

What an awful performance, Hazertz really looks as bad as everyone said he would, what a waste of money! Not a single shot on target second half against a 2nd tier man utd side and still no Balogun, what's the point in taking him on tour and not seeing what he can do? A dire performance, friendly or not.

Result obviously means nothing but you Arsenal boys have to be a little worried. Maguire was looking solid against you there in the second half.

Good to give the Arsenal boys a shellacking to start the season off.

Although ultimately friendlies mean very little, I do think Arsenal are in for a more difficult season than last. Greater expectation plus more difficult CL games could be rough for them.

Worrying scenes:
  • Poor from Ramsdale
  • Gabriel a liability AGAIN, feels like nobody is seeing this but me, I read people on other forums saying how great he was last season when he was giving away silly pens and all sorts. He was good two seasons ago but really we should have Timber partnering Saliba. Don't get me wrong he can defend well at times, first half he did well to get his body in the way of a runner etc but he's one of those players that is an accident waiting to happen, if you rely on him long enough he'll let you down. In his 3 seasons at Arsenal, every single season he's had the highest number of errors leading to goals amongst our defenders.
  • Not convinced Havertz is worth £65m or that we have a clear plan on how to get the best out of him

Shame Van Hecke decided he didn’t deem it a friendly match, but some decent play by both teams.

Pedro looks fun, can’t wait to see what our attack can do next season.
