*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

Walsall 0 Wolves 3, result doesnt matter, what does matter is the fact the Walsall fans are a bunch of scum, seriously, singing "wheres your tomm gone" is a god damn disgrace (Tommy (Tom Kirwan) was murdered a few weeks ago)

Southampton lost at home to Ajax today 1-0.
Played poorly in the opening 20 minutes but gradually got into the game and in the end felt a draw was a fair result.
Fonte looked poor today and really needs to up his game in time for the Prem because he was suspect last season. Lambert looked abit overweight but hopefully the next 3 weeks will sort that out.
Fox was torn apart by Ajax's Ozbiliz which is worrying seeing as he'll face players of his calibre a lot more this coming season. Fox's crossing and passing is so good it's a shame he can't play in midfield.
Lallana looked good aswell as JWP and Clyne played a very impressive 45 minutes.
Need at least 2 new first team players before Man City and maybe a few others to push for places.

Just because Liverpool's league season starts earlier than Roma, it doesn't mean we're ahead in our pre-season. Most of our first team either still haven't started pre-season training yet or only started training on Monday.
That is why I said Liverpool played a team full of youngsters, because they were the ones who did proper pre-season.
Yeah replace best RB in league for a speed merchant, medialogic

I hope you are not saying that Johnson is the best RB of the EPL.

I hope you aren't saying that isn't a possibility that he is

Surprised you didn't use  though, well done

Dunno which is funnier Purdy suggesting Johnson is the best RB in the PL or Malteser saying Richards is in the top 5 in the world

Richards is 1st by a mile. I think top 5 in the world too (in his position).
Walkers is probably in my top 3 for the PL. Ivanovic is also a good call imo.

Johnsone is average, very average imo.

Its a toss up between Richards and Johnson to be honest. Richards is the best overall defender in the RB posistion but lacks in other area's. Johnson can do it all.

Top 5 in the world?

Hmm. In order

Lahm
Maicon
Dani Alves
Ramos

No idea who I would put as number 5 though.

Our midfield was far better in the second half but it's hard to see where the goals are going to come from this season. If we're going to play with 3 in the centre at least one of the 3, assuming Lucas plays the holding role again, needs to be capable of getting in to double figures and I can't see any of our options getting anywhere near that.

We desperately need to get Carroll's future sorted soon and get rid of the dead wood and spend the money wisely for once. Pace, creativity and ******* goals is what we need, not safe reliable British ****
