Adam clumsily caught his foot and Bale is the type of player that makes a meal out of any contact, it was hardly a horror tackle. I wouldn't even give a yellow card for that unless Adam was last man.

I'm sorry but that is a shocking "tackle" he's deliberately run his studs down his ankle. He did the same thing last season and put Bale out for 3 months.

The guy is a **** head and I were Spurs I'd put a complaint in and try to stitch him up. The only thing I'm confused about is why the Spurs players didn't kick off? If you did that to me or one of my team mates I'd knock your block off.

A compliant? so no tackling Spurs now everyone. It's a mistimed tackle, if you want those banned then you want tackling banned, just ridiculous.

Yes because as a United fan I clearly have a great agenda to 'defend' a Liverpool player.

But everyone else says it's a horror tackleOHWAIT It's just the two Spurs fans.

It clearly isn't 'mistimed' though is it. There is no attempt whatsoever of getting the ball. I agree it isn't a 'horror' tackle, but still, no need. What a plonker.

Exactly! But according to the law of Ocuk forums he didn't snap his leg so it's fine.

He knew exactly what he was doing scraping his studs down Bales bad ankle and could easily have caused serious injury.... and he may yet have.

It was a poor tackle, but I don't see him clearly try and injure Bale at all.

You see tackles similar to that in almost every game...

i don't think adam is the kind of person to do it on purpose, it's just his brain writing cheques that his ability can't cash. couple that with the previous instances from him on bale and we're right to be annoyed.

It looked to me as if he's got caught the wrong side of Bale so just wants to bring him down. He caught him on the instep and Bale turned his ankle over but certainly doesn't look malicious as some are saying.

AVB seems to be making something out of nothing - if he was that concerned about Bale's injury, why didn't he take him off after the challenge rather than letting him play on for another 30 minutes?

Charlie Adam is almost as bad a tackler as Mr Scholes.

edit: Average tackle. They don't like each other but he didn't attempt to "end his season".

I don't like Adam, or Bale, or Spurs, but that was clearly on purpose. The ball is NO WHERE NEAR where he puts his foot BEFORE he even tries it. its not like the ball was there but moved before he swung his leg through. Its also what he's done, it's come down on the ball, what player tries to stamp on a ball, anyone tried it before while running, doesn't end well. He's gone for Bale, its his usual "how can I stop that guy getting away" little kick he does to players and did all season long. HE's got the Song disease, no matter how stupid it is, no matter that there is really no danger, nothing to play for and it doesn't matter he just has to kick the other guy. The only thing I think is he didn't intend to injure him.

Song in our game, against a nothing team(that also made us look stupid) randomly handballed a long ball out of their defence when they had one guy on his own against a whole defence, even if that was a premier league title game you wouldn't hand ball it, some players just do stupid things without thinking about it.

Anyway, other truly shockingly poor Arsenal preseason game, we couldn't beat, and didn't deserve to beat a team that Blackburn thrashed 3-0 last year, that Chelsea destroyed, and who are supposedly 2-3 weeks behind us in preseason as their first game isn't for 5 weeks.

Walcott is laughably poor, AOC looks positive but not very effective, Chamakh/Gervinho are shocking, he went past their fullbacks like they were 15th rate fullbacks in a nothing league who Blackburn can beat, he did it over and over, and he got ONE ball into the box. He was shocking apart from that one ball against a hopeless team and somehow Arsenal looked worse. There was a time our C team could thrash them.

The team we'll have ready for the start of the season looks like getting us in real trouble, and every game I'm wondering where the insane decision to not take Giroud/Podolski with us in preseason came from. Podolski didn't play an awful lot more than Theo and Giroud played an awful lot less than Theo in the Euro's, yet both weren't taken. So they'll have next to no time to play with the team, find any form, find any fitness or play any games before we go into the first games of the season?

It's a damn joke, the current squad with the best 11 is laughably awful at best and playing well below their best at the moment. We've only got Kos, Giroud, Podolski to come back at the moment with Rosicky/Wilshire injured, none of those three will hit the starting game in peak fitness and two of them will barely have played with the team.

How the hell did we end up in this position.

Pretty sure Adam didnt mean to injure Bale, it was a silly challenge but i dont see malice in it.

Its almost as if no Spurs players have ever given out a rash challenge, that challenge by Bale was nothing compared to Ekotto on Di Santo for example.
