*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

That wasn't the new season starting team. I guess that one day you’ll get to understand pre-season friendlies. :p

Er, no, but it was an incredibly strong team and it lost against Brighton.

If they played exceptionally well, they would have won, correct?

So, they either played badly, were incredibly unlucky, or didn't put any effort in... or something else?

It's pre-season, bad stuff happens .

Brighton's third goal was when Chelsea thought there was a foul, then all stopped and appealed. It wasn't given, so the fact Brighton played on meant they scored.

Apparently, the first was just them giving the ball away stupidly, and the other was just a defensive mixup.

Nice to see the wolves are circling, though! :o

I didn't watch the game. I wanted to know what happened. That's all.

Simulatorman seems to have taken great offence to my question, which is odd, as I wasn't mocking Chelsea, just wondering what happened. Such results are generally expected in pre-season when you field some reserve/youth players, but not a near full strength first team.

Er yes, you clearly don't have much of a clue about pre-season squads, their sharpness and fitness or managers tactics preparing a squad for a new season. Maybe you should watch a few pre-season games then it would help you understand.

Nevermind then, I seem to have clearly offended you. That wasn't my intention.

Saints beat the Wolves 2-0 this afternoon in a relaxed friendly encounter.

Sharp scored in the first 20 mins and puncheon got the second at 69 mins. Wolves apparently had a few decent chances but failed to make them pay.

Both teams were missing some big names, saints had a few missing through training knocks, wolves were missing the big three transfer speculation guys and Milijas. All in all saints got what they wanted (more or less) and wolves seem to just need a bit of confidence.

Well, just back from the game at Brighton and it sets us up nicely for the Championship campaign

I though both teams played well within themselves.

Vicente will be a star performer in the Championship thats for sure.

Luiz got a bit niggly towards the end, tangling with Barnes who is no angel himself.

Chelsea fans up for it until half time then went very quiet for the whole of the second half.
