*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

Fulham just beat Nice 4 nil away, goals from Petric (now 5 in 5 games), Mesca (ex Chelsea youngster), Diarra and Kacaniklic (cheers, Liverpool!).

City beat Wolfsburg 2-0 tonight. Yaya and Aguero.

Looking sharper and faster every game.

Tomorrow should be good, we play Limerick. The likes of Balotelli, Clichy, Nasri and Silva etc

How good is that?!?!?! Would love a friendly against a League of Ireland team just for a laugh (Watford went to Cork a few weeks ago). Doubt the full first team will be out to batter Limerick, that would be almost cruel...

UTD's squad for this tour.

Tour squad: De Gea, Lindegaard; Evra, Ferdinand, Jones, M Keane, Vidic; Anderson, Carrick, Nani, Powell, Lingard, Scholes, Valencia, Young; Berbatov, Hernandez, Kagawa, Macheda, Rooney, Welbeck

Seeing Vidic's name on there is a god send. Best defender in the world. Lets see how Kagawa and Rooney play together. I'd like to see Rooney stay upfront instead of hunting the ball down these season, only if we had that sort of player to do that in the midfield for us. hmmmmm.

Good to see that Lingard is still in the squad. He looked pretty good along with a couple of other lads.

Why wouldn't he be? He's just signed a contract extension. Or do you mean it's good he's over the injury?

I think you're getting Lindegaard confused with Lingaard. One is a goalie, the other is a young midfielder who played well in our first pre season game.

We have played with a lot of reserves in our pre season so far but the squad we are using for these last few games is obviously moving towards the starting XI for the season. I was just pleased that he might be considered for some game time next year based on his selection in this "first XI". Most of the other youngsters have been dropped again for these last few games.

Some opinions are literally ridiculous, and without any objective basis, though. That's the only point I was making.

I'd assume it's the manner in which you decided to make this 'point'.

It would have only gone into bickering for pages so thankfully it was removed and we didn't have to endure it.

EDIT: This is now probably going to turn into a discussion about that now which is arguably worse too, so moving on...

Only Moses would find it stupid that someone think's Vidic is the best defender in the world so if anyone isn't entailed to an opinion it's him tbh

Manchester United team to face Valerenga:

Lindegaard, Valencia, Ferdinand, Vidic, M Keane, Young, Carrick, Scholes, Nani, Welbeck, Rooney

Bench: De Gea; Anderson, Berbatov, Chicharito, Powell, Kagawa, Macheda, Lingard.

Kagawa not starting. He's had a few games though so it's fair enough I suppose.

Kagawa has only played 30 seconds of one game and most of another hasn't he? I'm sure we will see quite a few subs in the game at any rate. Thats getting on for our strongest squad so I should think he will give most of them a pop.

Which of those will get games? Basically, will Macheda/Lindgard/Keane see much match time, next season?

I don't know about Macheda but there is always the Carling and FA cup for the younger players. Lingard looks like he might get some PL experience, Keane as well maybe. We are a bit thin defensively at the moment and central midfield is obviously still a position that some cover wouldn't hurt.

Time will tell how they get on this season.
