*** Pre-season Friendlies Thread ***

Well that's pre-season over, with a 2-0 loss against a Portsmouth XI of trialists. They played quite well but we gave them two very easy goals and were unlucky not to get at least one back. Not sure how we'll do this season, hopefully mid-table obscurity!

Real Madrid 5 - 1 AC Milan

AC seem just like another team without Ibra and Silva. Who is their star player now? Robihno? Pato?

Some really good goals there but keep in mind, Milan started off with more of a first team and took 5 first team players off at half time. Real left a few first teamers on the bench and brought on 3 first teamers at half time, another couple through the half and a couple first teamers off.

So it was 1-1 half time with relatively equal teams, and in the second half 4-0 against a half backup side for Milan. At their best Italians teams tend to suck away from home, Milan suck away from home, and their best against Real's best is a surefire win for Real. Real's second team against Milan's is a non contest, Real have the strongest bench in the world by a freaking massive margin. Ibra/Silva wouldn't have made a difference.

Real should finally be a real force this year in Europe, they've played the "we're not good enough to beat Barca" mentality for so ruddy long but with that finally off their back we should see more strong attacking performances, less of that sit back and try not to lose they did against Barca and in some of the bigger Euro ties. A squad gets a couple years together, wins something they'll almost certainly get stronger. Bit odd that Kaka had one of his rare good games against his old side which he's supposedly wanting to go back to, either wanting to make his wages look worthwhile for a change, always funny to see players who haven't performed suddenly turn up when they might be about to sign a new contract :p

MUFC team vs Hannover - Lindegaard, M Keane, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Nani, Cleverley, Kagawa, Young, Rooney, Hernandez

Should be two up, and instead we're one down. :p

Sir Alex isn't there either, he's on 'club business', hopefully that has something to do with van Persie.

Impressed with Tom Cleverley upto now, looks sharp after the Olympics. Giving some drive from midfield. Him and Shin getting a good understanding in this game.

RvP in Germany also with Arsenal.

People don't seem to know if he's [SAF] in Germany, or in England. I don't see why he'd end up at the training ground of Arsenal, surely he'd be sorting it with Arsenal first (in London), unless a deal has been struck... who knows.

so where is fergie he aint at the game , must be in england having a medical with neymar

That must be it. :p

Looking really good that first half. I think I prefer Carrick in the centre of defence to midfield.
