Premier League Fixtures - 22/23/24th August (Spoilers)

Bit dissapointed with our result today. I thought liverpool weren't great and we were easily a match for them. They seemed a little more productive but i though we played the much better football.

If you'd said 2-1 to me before the match i wouldn't have disagreed but after that i am slightly dissapointed that we didn't get something from the game. Always dissapointing to concede a freak goal and lose

Thought our defence was excellent, at this rate Wheater will be in the england squad in no time, Tuncay had another great game and is fast turning into Southgates best buy, Aliadiere is really making the right side his own which is great to see as i think hes got some fantastic attributes. I thought O'Neil had a good game in the centre as well, working his ass off and really showing up Liverpools midfield.

Not sure how Southgate is going to solve his new defensive problem, does he drop Taylor or Pogatetz or does he jsut leave Hoyte out as i think Huth and Wheater are gonna be a great partnership.

Good to have our hardest game of the season out of the way and good to have scored 5 goals in the first 2 games, shame 2 were in our own goal though.

Good performance overall, plenty of positives just a shame amount the result.

We have a real test next week playing our first 'bottom half club'. We really need to start beating the lower clubs to progress up the league.

I think Boro could be a top6 side this season, Southgate's doing some good things there, decent back line and some decent attacking flair.

That said we were ****** **** today, something isnt right at the mo, thats 3 pee poor games on the trot, and we better get it together for the next CL tie, otherwise we will go out.

Last season we absolutely destroyed Fulham. Our midfield that day? Rosicky Flamini Fabregas Hleb. Compare that to today's midfield and all you can do is laugh. The drop in quality is not so much a step as a bloody leap off a skyscraper. Our style of play is just a mess now with no clear aim to it. Wenger has a clear vision for the way he wants our midfield to play football and create chances so it's utterly bemusing that he's seemingly satisfied going in to this season knowing that two players who just can't play that way - Eboue and Walcott - will almost certainly play a large part in our season and on the pitch at the same time.

What is this Eboue central midfield experiment all about? Are we really that desperate? It's embarrassing. I really can't work out why Wenger set the midfield out as he did today. Surely Eboue and Walcott on the wings, with Nasri and Denilson in the centre would have been a better line-up? The telling thing about today is that Eboue was rubbish, again, but was probably in our top 5 performers of the day. I had to laugh when the camera cut to Wenger just after the second half had kicked off, puffing his cheeks and shaking his head as if what was happening on the pitch was unbelievable considering our immense midfield. Sometimes I really do just wonder about Wenger..

Denilson. Dear oh dear. Not good enough, but I've been saying that for months. Always said that apart from some neat and tidy short passing he doesn't offer a whole lot, but today he couldn't even pass. Atrocious. In all seriousness that was probably one of the worst performances I've seen from an Arsenal player ever. Walcott was terrible also. Nasri tried hard, but his ideas didn't come off often and he suffered from the lack of quality around him. Set-pieces were poor.

Ade was okay, RVP was crap. His free kicks were a joke.

Gallas can be blamed for us not coming away from this with a point though. His defending, if it can even be called that, was lazy and the polar opposite of what you'd expect from your captain. Hang your head in shame.

Sagna was also poor, probably his worst performance since arriving, but I can forgive him. He's been a rock of consistency since we signed him and he can afford an off day.

Song was good when he came on. Played the best ball of the match within minutes and did more in the little time he had than Denilson or Eboue did the whole match to be fair. IMO should get a chance to partner Cesc in midfield.

Oh, didn't mention in my post but kudos to Fulham. Brilliant. They played football and even though Gallas gifted them the goal, they fully deserved the victory. They outplayed us at football which as an Arsenal fan I don't find myself saying often. Well done.

chuffed with 3 points for the toon today, had to ride our luck at times but Bolton played the "bolton game" fair play to them, they played it very well by the sounds of it

Happy we hit the ground running , hopefully nick a point at the emirates and a great september for newcastle

We need to tie owen down to a new contract, plus we need a creative mid

Gutted for boro, any team that goes to anfield and plays the way they did deserve a point

As for sunderland, chuffed they beat spurs, but again gutted they beat spurs ... lol can't have them winning

TBH I think all 3 NE teams will be suprise packages this season
