Hello!

Appreciate that there will be posts that have already answered my question, but I have two pressure washers in mind.

&

I'm looking for something that is all purpose, can do anything, want it to be electric and not gas/petrol powered.

With the karcher I like how it offers more tools but I'll end up buying more anyway and more specific to my needs, is the K4 worth buying because of the price or jumping to K7 better?

Definitely NOT a Karcher! they ALL crack or break on the same rubbish plastic section that come out the body, then you have a fire hydrant coming out the front, this has happened on 3 of ours and to everyone I know lol. 3rd time definitely was not lucky
They blatantly do this to make you replace them, the part could easily be metal with O rings...

Interesting.. not aware of many other brands. I bought a spear and Jackson about 5 years ago, but its busted and only cost me 70 quid, lost half of the attachments during a house move and if I recall, the one I got wasn't particularly great.

I'm open to other brands of course!

Nilfisk maybe, tends to be similar in price to karcher. I've had a C110 now for 5+ years and it works well, although mine has a plastic connector for attaching the hose on the front which is damaged slightly.

I bought an AVA GP P40 oressure washer and it is in my eyes for the money very good. well made easy to use and has a 10 year warrantee and you can by service parts cheap as chips, spares as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will explore their options further. Is their evolution series the all "singing and dancing" of pressure washers they do?

Nilfisk get recommended all the time, I got one after my karcher died. I preferred the karcher attachments but the nilfisk ones still do the job and they pressure washer itself seems decent.

Another recommendation for Nilfisk here too.

I've had several, due to upgrades and other reasons but when I've had one fail (it happens) Nilfisk customer support have been excellent.

In one case the PW was leaking from inside the housing and they simply asked me to send them a video of the issue, proof of purchase and I was sent a replacement via next-day delivery - that simple.

In another case I damaged the 'wand' or whatever it's called. I asked about the cost of a replacement and was totally honest about what I'd done and they sent me one FOC.

I've been looking at Nilfisk and Ava all morning!

Not sure what to get, budget is approx £400.

AVA has 'XL bundles' which contains pretty much every attachment but how good they are.. not sure, verses a good lance.

I'm not sure if this is the wrong category, but the telescopic lances are good for uses like, cleaning windows, gutters, roofing, motorhomes etc?

Upgraded from a Kärcher K2 Compact to a Nilfisk Core 150 Power Control just over a year ago and the Nilfisk is way more powerful. As others have posted, the Kärcher attachment system is easier to quick swap tools, but the Nilfisk seems way more solid.

There are not many reviews for the

However, attachments appear to be a pain, as you've got to purchase connectors to fit with old style ryobi.. I'm guessing this is the same with most PW?

170psi, 475 flow rate, metal pump?

Karcher here too, my first which is over 20 years old my son uses, I have a K7 Compact which is over 7 years old now.
I think the myth of everyone cracking is may be down to them being left in a cold garage / shed and consequently getting frost damage.

Got an AVA Smart P60 (XL package) because they had a deal on at the time that made it under £200. Only real issue i've had with it is it blew a fuse but this seems to be a common issue with some of the models (something to do with peak load when very quickly stop/starting), hasn't happened since though.
Otherwise it's a solid machine, well built, included attachments are pretty good (other than the patio cleaner which is similar to what Karcher offers and just as "useful") and uses Karcher fittings which handy.

Would you recommend something on the likes of https://www.qvcuk.com/ava-smart-p50...iga-bundle-accessory-pack.product.737224.html it's the model down from yours however negligible in terms of performance?

Pressure washer for sure, that specific deal really depends if you think the bundled accessories would be useful - imo, the nozzle kit, hose extension and service kit seem worth having though.
If you aren't in a rush and don't need all those accessories, then perhaps hold out to see if another ~£200 deal pops up for the P50/60 (plus a few accessories).

To reiterate, blowing the occasional fuse seems to be a thing for some AVA's (seems some models are worse than others for it), so i would recommend having a quick read around and making sure you're comfortable/know the situation etc. It's certainly nothing i've experienced with Karcher's (had a few over the years) but so far it hasn't been much of an issue - worse case, i would make use of the 10 year warranty.

Forensic Detailing Channel (YouTube), has a few videos discussing AVA and outlining some of the models - aimed towards the car detailing crowd but give a load of information.

Thank you for that, I will take a look at those videos.

I will also read into the fuse blow also. I am hoping you wouldn't get that in the lesser powered machines but who knows. I have the budget to go for the expensive ones but I'm not a professional. I just want an excellent tool, longevity, versitile and does it well given an amature!

If that bundle drops below the 300 mark. Might be a steal!
