Prices are going crazy!

Auctions I used to go to had a 30 day money back thing for anything over a grand.

Im sure lots offer mechanical warranty these days. I know you have risks, but anytime ive went I can go under the bonnet etc without problems.

Unless the car is specifically warranted, cars from BCA auctions will not have a warranty. Thats the point. It's just bulk stock for people who know what they are doing.

That BMW 325Ci Sport Convertible looks like a lovely motor. It's got me looking at them now, would rather have one of these than an S2k :)

What do you think fox?

Utterly pointless cars. Get a 330Ci Sport Convertible instead. I'd rather have one than an S2000 as well but it's against the law to be in posession of a 330Ci Sport Convertible and not wear skintight white shirts, wear bling and refer to it as a 'VERT'. Which rather puts me off.

Had to ask if there are any like this in scotland, these prices are just insane.

There's three that I know of which are well known:

Intercity : melbourne street Glasgow. Pretty small.
Intercity in Perth: Pretty big.
The one at baileston. Central Car Auctions : pretty big.

what absolute rubbish.
if you can bag a big bargain on a 325 then get it. yes, if you can afford the extra for a 330 then fair enough, but you shouldnt pass on a cheap auction 325 just because of some crap about an image.

Some points before we all get too excited.

b) Buying at auction carries considerble risk which for many will outweigh the savings. Yes, a 2005 X-Type diesel for 5 grand. Good deal. Not so good if you drive it out of the site and realise the turbo isn't working and it needs 4 new injectors. You cannot test drive, you can't even root around under the bonnet and you can't inspect the cars. There is no warranty.

Funnily enough you can root around wherever you want in an auction, under the bonnet, boot etc etc.

You can even sit in it when it's started!

Have you ever been to an auction?

Ok, I know he's wrong about looking under the bonnet... But a test drive is pretty vital imo.
