Primark

My missus likes to go to the one in Oxford Street, goodness knows why! Never seen anything like it.

I was waiting for her to get into a changing room and stood near the door, I swear there wasn't a 5 second gap before someone else came into the shop - evidently a market for cheap tripe!

Get what you pay for at the end of the day.

may be on a bit off topic - but i used to work for a company that provided IT support to primark stores and I got to say 99% of their staff were incredibly inpatient and generally very rude!

Only time I've ever been inside one when it wasn't a zoo, was a Sunday, just as they opened the doors. Popped in, got what I wanted and left.

Been dragged in there with the mrs a few times on Saturdays. Words fail me :(

I find Primark jeans to be very poorly made.

It's hit and miss if you don't select them well. The ones that are about £9 CAN be good quality, sometimes. You just have to pick a few that you like, try them on and you will instantly know which are the well-made, wash-enduring ones. Some of my best jeans have come from primark, whilst I have £40 ones from Burtons that look like Star out swearing fully please. von. if they aren't washed and ironed after every wear. On the contrary, some jeans I have bought from primark without first trying on have been poorly made.

Imo primark is awesome for the £3 tshirts. Get the inconspicuously designed ones, in natural colours like grays, and they are really good. I personally wear primark clothes on a day to day basis, and switch to a designer slim fit shirt/tshirt when I want to go out on the town. I like to wear expensive shoes and jackets, however, because I feel they are the two items of clothing cheap clothes stores can't do well - and you don't have to replace them often.

If you're a man, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get what you need, because men's sizing is easy. I'm Small Tshirts and 30" Waist, so I walk in, grab 5 t-shirts that look (and feel) good, pick a few pairs of jeans I think will last - try them on and select the best - and off I go. Costs me about £30 every 2 months, and I look no worse than anyone that shops at Top-man/Burtons/Next/Whatever - mainly because I like to spend £100 every 6 months on a pair of Skate shoes and a loose fitting, good quality jacket I can wear pretty much all the time.

Primark is amazing and cost effective, but I wouldn't use it for everything. That's just me, but I think if you selected all your clothes from there with scruitny, you would look fine and save a lot of money. After all, some items of clothing have more of an impact than others, and it's your body/face that impacts your 'look' the most. I know people that look awesome in their £10 Primark outfit, whilst people that look like crap in their Jack & Jones £200 outfit.

i think it was exactly like this for the past 10 years, and i do go there once in 2-3 years, to make sure i am not missing out :D choose remote retail park stores, where there isnt a lot of ppl and you can browse and try things in peace.

Most of my clothes during uni were from Primark. T shirts at 2 pound a pop. Why wear an expensive top when you are just lounging around the house spilling beer and pizza down it.

You think shopping there is bad? Lol?

Should try working there and folding and folding and folding all that mess up and don’t get me started on the reduce to clear rails omg jumble sale on wheels

Worst job I ever had when I was younger and in my college days NEVER AGAIN NEVER!

Working in there in the summer is just twice as bad as the air cons are totally rubbish

This is why you don't go to notoriously busy shops on the busiest shopping day of the week (Saturday).

It's like those people who do their weekly big shop at a busy supermarket at 5pm on a Friday evening, then complain about it being too busy and having to wait in a queue at the checkout.

Primark is good for only one thing.. cheap throw away holiday clothes.

This ^^^

I try to go early morning through the week, it's great for bits and bobs that you dont mind throwing away once you've wore them.
I always get a few pairs of linen pants and just leave them on holiday, i'm never gonna wear them at home & for the £6 they cost it's no great loss.

I find it a very useful shop to be honest. Great for plain T-shirts and jeans, can't find anywhere cheaper and I've yet to have any of them break, some have even lasted a couple of years now!

You just have to ignore the rest of the people in there.

Never shopped there myself, but my ex bought me a numbers of tees and long sleeved "shirts" I found them to be ill fitting, and the tee shirts stretch horribly.

It kind of re enforced the opinion I already had of the place.... rubbish.

Yes the Cardiff store is dire, I assume every other one is also.

My wife has gone in on the rare occasion when it's somebodys birthday.

Agreed i have been to the cardiff store. Always full to the point you cannot move and lines are out of the door.

You go shopping with the Mrs

A few times. Usually if I want to get something in town, she will tag along then sabotage the trip with diversions in to "her" shops.

I know what you're thinking. I don't intentionally go clothes shopping with her, it's just we've happened to pop in on the odd occasion.

You saying you've never once gone to town with the mrs and got pulled in to at least one shop?
