It is what it is. Cheap clothes. Last time I wnet in there I got pretty decent polo shirts for £2.50 which are ideal for working in.

shoulda gone to JD sports you could have got the exact same polo shirt with a tiny crocodile for a measly £50 like someone on this forum did just a few weeks ago they even made a thread about it

Damn, Wish I hand known and I wouldn;t have spent £10 o 4 shirts in Primark and got those bargain ones with the crocodile for £200 instead :(

I disagree. There is generally a massive quality difference between cheap stuff you get in Primark et al and more expensive clothing. For example the T-shirts made by Animal wipe the floor quality wise with the stuff you generally get in the cheap chain stores.

Not going to comment specifically on the crocodile brand though as I've never worn one. :p

Also It's not JD sports anymore, even though they may call themselves that... Last one I went into had absolutely no "sports" stuff. What kind of sports shop doesn't sell tennis balls (or even footballs that I could see)!?

er they were called JD sports because they sold sportswear ?
anyway if your paying £20 for an "animal" tshirt you should expect the quality to be better.. and 40 quid for a polo shirt lol poloshirts generallty dont vary that much in quality and fitting :S

It is like a great big jumble sale. My friends always come out with bags full of stuff saying what bargains they've found and how it's their absolute favourite shop. I'd rather pay more and go to a shop where I can actually look at things without having to root through a massive pile. Give me Next any day!

I also think it's a false economy - my sister has had about 6 pairs of leggings from Primark over the last year. I've had one pair from Next which are still fine.

The one nearest to me seems to be solely staffed by 16 year olds who stand around talking to each other and not doing much else! Though if I worked there, I wouldn't know where to start clearing up all the mess that gets left.

Maybe it's because it's so cheap and all set out in piles on tables, rather than on rails, that people just don't give a **** when the stuff falls on the floor.

This is true I will admit. The quality of my £2.50 polo shirts is nothing like as good as my more expensive branded ones. However, £2.50 is a lot of shirt for the money. I wear them to work in so don;t care if I throw them out after 6 months.

However, you can get the same quality clothing elsewhere without the branding for a much cheaper price. From a £50 crocodile shirt I reckon you are paying £30 for the crocodile.

Agreed.

Me personally I do not shop there. However for the kids, I really can't go wrong. Summer hols is coming up and I expect both my boys to be playing out as much as they can. T Shirts at a couple of quid a pop make better sense than spending £10.00 on one just because it has a tag on it.

They try and keep costs low as possible. That's why it's awful. Their lack of security cameras and reliance on undercover guards also makes them prime targets for theft, at least here.
I never realised that,regarding security.
My eldest daughter had her purse lifted whilst in Primark, she was told it was not caught on camera,i see why now.

Yeah they were (and are) however they seem to have stopped selling any kind of sportswear/equipment (that they used to sell).:p It's all just Mckensie Jackets and bags (and the similar brands)...

Exactly, that's my point, generally the more you pay the better it is. £50 for a polo is a bit much in my book however it's likely to be a hell of a lot better put together than a £5-10 polo from Primark...

When I go to Primark its usually for a specific thing.

The best one I went to was in Essex somewhere... wasn't like a jumble sale... loads of staff and tidy!!!

Other than that I avoid it like the plague!
