Even more recently - Emmanuel Macron's wife was his teacher when he was 15 and she was 40, and she left her first husband for him!
True, though everyone knows the French are a bit odd like that, hardly news over there!

The fact that Charles has visited risking a public backlash as most of us are banned from visiting relatives in hospital says it is more serious than some of his more recent stays. I hope he makes a swift recovery and returns home as I do everyone who is admitted to hospital but at 99 he is getting less and less likely to come home each time he goes in.
Never said they were, but Royalty does more good for the country than not.
What would you prefer? Look at the state of other countries with Prime-ministers and Presidents - France, corrupt womaniser, US, lol! Vote for the best of the worst candidates, money = votes.
Of course not, they are properly educated. You really think the monarchy is a labour voter......
Most hospitals are not allowing visitors except for compassionate visits for end of life situations, they are hardly even letting dads in to see new born babies! The travelIs it banned? The BBC suggested it was a legal reason to travel
They went to Eton they know who to vote for to keep the rich getting richer and the poor staying poor and they are certainly all rich!Of course not, they are properly educated.![]()
Curious that you'd choose absurd examples when we can easily just keep the job the same while allowing the public the ability to change the holder of office. Furthermore, do you think the royal family would suddenly stop existing if we became a republic? I don't see them leaving the country or ending their patronages, so largely I think the benefit of their existence would remain rather static.
Their website claims they're covid free.anyway, same with this visit to the hospital...I wouldn't expect it to be the exact same rules as everyone else, who knows what tests/measures etc they've got in place
it was the same when Charles got a covid test really early on, people questioning why he had priority....hmm let me think, what could be the reason...

If Philip dies, the queen won’t be far behind imo. Losing your husband and rock of 73 years is a very dangerous shock to the system for such an old lady.As long as queenie keeps going for the Jubilee so we get an extra day off, all is good![]()
