Prince Phillip

The fact that Charles has visited risking a public backlash as most of us are banned from visiting relatives in hospital says it is more serious than some of his more recent stays. I hope he makes a swift recovery and returns home as I do everyone who is admitted to hospital but at 99 he is getting less and less likely to come home each time he goes in.

Is it banned? The BBC suggested it was a legal reason to travel

Never said they were, but Royalty does more good for the country than not.

What would you prefer? Look at the state of other countries with Prime-ministers and Presidents - France, corrupt womaniser, US, lol! Vote for the best of the worst candidates, money = votes.

Curious that you'd choose absurd examples when we can easily just keep the job the same while allowing the public the ability to change the holder of office. Furthermore, do you think the royal family would suddenly stop existing if we became a republic? I don't see them leaving the country or ending their patronages, so largely I think the benefit of their existence would remain rather static.

Most hospitals are not allowing visitors except for compassionate visits for end of life situations, they are hardly even letting dads in to see new born babies! The travel
isn’t the issue as far as I’m aware.

No idea what you are on about, but at no point did i say the Royal Family would stop existing.

As usual, lots of "I want this", but nothing to back up why or how things could be better.

it was the same when Charles got a covid test really early on, people questioning why he had priority....hmm let me think, what could be the reason...

anyway, same with this visit to the hospital...I wouldn't expect it to be the exact same rules as everyone else, who knows what tests/measures etc they've got in place

Their website claims they're covid free.

/edit - Or to be more specific, that nobody is admitted with covid.

There just human beings like the rest of us, Kings, Queens, Prince, Princess in this day and age is just lol

yeah we're all humans

my point was that it's not hard to imagine why the blanket rules applied to everyone else wouldn't apply to them...I don't mean they can just do what they like but they'll have the resources etc that nobody else will
