Prison

The fact that he hasnt posted since his OP suggests he cowardly doesnt want to explain what happened.

Obviously, he wont be posting today as if true he is expecting to serve time. If he does do time he will be out in a month knowing our CJS.

GBH?

Hmm that forums status of "Thug" is appropriate then.

But in all seriousness, all the best mate.

GBH is fairly horrible. Joey Barton only got done for ABH and he beat someone so badly that they looked like 'the elephant man' afterwards

Get a map of the prison and have it tattooed over your entire body. Then break out from the prison with a bunch of your newly acquired mates.

Next week I am getting sentenced for GBH - know I'll be going down but not sure for how long. Getting to me now big time and pretty much crapping it. See on other threads a few people on here know people who've been in. If you have any idea what it's really like or is it as easy as people say would be good to know.

keep your head down (not a pun)

choose your friends very carefully, lend no-one nothing, if you smoke stop,
and most importantly reflect on your life, and ensure you don't ever go back in

good advice sounds like what I say to new prisoners during induction

As he's up for GBH as opposed to ABH I'm guessing he must have shown a more serious level of intent to injure on top of the level of injury caused, which is less likely to be from defending himself or other "innocent" reasons in most cases.

Sort yourself out and learn to control yourself so you don't stupidly get yourself in this position again. Like has been said before, good luck!

He could've defended his home from a break in for all you know.
If that was the case he still went way over the top. There is defending your home, and then there is nearly killing the person. The first would get you ABH (or potential off completely if only 'reasonable' force was used) whilst the latter would get you GBH. If he was in any way defending himself then he could have also got off of the charge by claiming self-defence. Just because someone is stealing your stuff does not give you license to nearly kill them, nor should it.
