If you want to diverge from reality. Why don't they change the rules. I know plenty of ways to make football more entertaining.

It's not worth paying for an xbox + fifa 09 + £40 a year to play fifa imo and that's the only thing I'd play on the xbox.
Not having played it on xbox 360 I grant you but to me it looks exactly the same gameplay wise as the pc version which I have played and found pretty dire as usual and arcadey.
And that's always been fifa's problem really it just never feels right.
In the long run I still think pro evo will be better online if there's no lag.

just played the demo and it is much better then PES 08.
The game has this nice cut out / retro theme but the ingame web 2.0 / windows vista bar for the names kinda ruins the look and feel of the game.
Other then that, I will defo buy this game.

how about they just keep trying to make the entertainment game instead of a simulator, theres only so much room for realism within the game to be honest.
Been playing the demo since it came out and while it is better than 08 there is something really wrong with the passing this year. Sometimes passes just don't go where you intend them too (always been a little of this in past versions) bun now it seems much worse.

It can't hold your hand forever; when I played earlier I did some lovely passes, over the top, through balls etc

Hell I thought passing in this installment was much better than '08 and even better than some of the earlier PES games. Just because we all loved PES6 back when it came out doesn't make it a great game 
When PES5/6 came out everyone was disappointed and said they'd stick to PES4 and this argument just carries on...

I just found that too many times I would aim a pass at a particular player and it would go to somebody else, sometimes even in the opposite direction. To make matters worse what was intended to be a short pass could go to a wrong player miles in the wrong direction.

I remember a lot of people moaning about PES6 when it came out but I took to it straight away (unlike previous PES games). I still feel its the best in the series. That random player exhibition mode was a nice little feature to have. I enjoyed it with my mates. Mixing up players from different teams was a nice touch. They removed it after that and it doesn't look like its coming back though
I knee jerked with my comments and thoughts re the PES2009 demo. However, I hadn't configured the resolution etc correctly! I'm pretty old school re the PES series and still play number 6 with the evo patch today. 2008 was awful imo but this one is really going to get me hooked, it is superb. I've been playing the demo to death and I don't hink I've scored 2 goals the same and any goals you do get feel well earned. Animation is still a little questionable but the ball physics and general feel of the game is as good and if not better than most of the PES games I love and know. Can't wait for the modding community to do their work with this one and then i xpect it will be the most enjoyable PES ever.

Not really don't recall any of that myself the only one was pes2008 shambolic game online and offline.
for people who having problems installing it or getting the demo to work. (only works on windows xp pro i think)
for those that can't install.
Got to your control panel, adminstrative tools, software restrictions policies, enforcment. Then make sure these settigns are ticked
All softwarefiles except libraries (such as DDLs) and all users excpt local administrators.
I did that and it installed for me.
For these with the dll error. Put d3dx9_30.dll into google download the file and put it in your windows\system directory and it should work fine
for those that can't install.
