Pro Evo 09 Demo released 2nd October

Well played my first game Man U vs France with professional setting. Managed a 1-0 win and dominated.
This is a huge improvement on pes 2008 and feels incredibly natural. Passing and dribbling are a lot more difficult and the AI seems to be smarter and track player a lot better. The speed of the game is slower as well and its welcome in some ways but will need getting used to. Goals are more difficult to come by because of more difficult passing and crossing. This is the best PES to date and beats PES 6 which was my previous favourite (even though I stopped playing it when 08 came out).
I used an xbox 360 wireless controller with no problems.
I havent played fifa09 with the next gen engine since I don't have a 360, so can't compare.

"Oh ye. About what you said, bingham67 about your PS3 pad not working with your pc? Have you got a USB converter too? My pad only works on one player. With 2 player as the 2nd controller/2nd player it acts up and the menu selection constantly moves up and down like someones pressing on a certain direction. Tried fiddling with it in the menus on this game and on pes2008 but no luck. Stuck using a nock off ps2 usb pad for the pc"
I had this issue but oddly plugging in two ps2 pads fixed it. If i only had one plugged in then it kept auto moving however by plugging in two pads it all worked fine.

Are through balls still screwed up? especially chipped ones?
Surprised nobody else has mentioned that wonderful pro evo 2008 feature
Are they? I was playing on Top Player and the computer was doing some absolutely gorgeous chipped balls, which I did find hard to do. I think its actually better with this engine because its more realistic.
I scored a chipped ball quite easily on it the other day, and i was rubbish at them on 08, whos saying they were broke or w/e on 08? they were fine, could have done with actually being chipped higher mind but meh.
Realism definately doesnt = fun, the games supposed to be fun.
Who said I had an xbox pad?
May be the PES settings menu threw you offHmm, i might lend a pad off one of my mates to see if this works
Is it only me or is the sound really crackly? I had this problem on the same pc with 08 also. The sound just seems totally borked, what I was mainly hoping would be improved. Also no commentry?

wouldnt instal for me either , it came up with some " system admin wont let you install on this machine" error message

Chipped passes rather than shots.
Also, realism is good for most people. People who play football will appreciate realism in my experience.
Ye i've had some crackly sound from time to time. Comes and goes although I don't remember having it on 2008. The commentary is never put in any of the demos so I wouldn't worry there.
Mines pretty much crackly for the whole lot, hopefully will be better in the full release!

yup i play football, if i want realism ill get my boots on and go play, if i want entertainment I expect the game to deliver, after playing fifa on the 360 earlier though I have written off this years evo, its absolutely disgraceful compared to fifa, which was a barrel of laughs, not in the least bit frustrating 2v2 etc, genuinly fun! real good game, evo on the other hand.. what the ... its gammy as owt =/
On the flipside to that I played Fifa 09 and thought it was literally shocking, it upset me to play it that it was so poor. I liked some of the last Fifa games and was prepared to buy this one over Pro for once, but it is very disappointing. Although I bet the online side of it destroys pro which will be a bit annoying.
Which fifa? pc or console? I wont even entertain trying the PC fifa as I know it will be shocking as ever, hence why i specified playing the 360 one and PC evo(same as consoles obv, unlike fifa)
Doesnt really bother me at the mo, Only going to be able to use a console/pc for 2 weeks at xmas between now and march
