Has anyone else noticed you can do the forward run with the goalkeeper with goal kicks.
Hold LB when taking a goal kick and he will go charging forward afterwards

Fifa 08 seems a big step up for FIFA so I'll definately be grabbing that.
PES 2008 for me at least, seems one of those games that the more you play... the more you like it.
I want to like Fifa more than PES this year because of how much of an improvement it is, but this years PES is very good
Will have to turn the difficulty up on PES though, I'm finding it easier to score this year in PES than normal

Same here, in about 20 games on FIFA I think I have only scored 5 goals.
PES on the highest setting I am finding really enjoyable but I can still get wins in without a huge effort.
Good fun though, loving PES2008 so far. Can't wait to get playing online

I played both and find the Fifa demo SOO frustrating!! I want to buy that game so much because of the wealth of teams, the presentation, everything! HOWEVER the gameplay is appauling. I just want to cry whenver I play it, the old concrete boots/quicksand pitch feeling is SOO focking annoying!!

They are soo close to a good game though... why don't EA realise how bad the gameplay is, give up and copy PES??
It can't be that hard!! Anyway PES will always win aslong as EA are determined to reduce football to a series of choreographed movements from a set play book. over which the player has little control or feedback.

Each to there own but why should it it dosnt need to it already has a decent engine that is far more advanced then PES imo.
Only thing that lets Fifa down is response times and player likeness should be hugely improved imo PES 08 is to fast has horrible running animations to name few faults. Also way to scripted just see all the long shot goals being scored it same old its like Deja vu little physics come into play compared to Fifa. Also AI is far more advanced in Fifa each games have there good and bad but i can even see it here with people say they are struggling with Fifa wouldn't you want more of challenge or being to easy. ?
Now i have only listed few faults no games are perfect but end of day comes down to user opinion and im not saying play this etc. Im only arguing against the points you have made. I have played PES for many many years also Winning Eleven Japanese games but im afraid PES needs new life for me now. Not saying PES 08 will be rubbish far from probably will be a blast mp wise but when you played for so long and now see glaring faults you want game to improve.
Im holding off for full games though as both have been improved over demos so i have read. So will make my final judgement based on these instead of the hundreds of media i have seen i dont need to play to see what ive seen so far. But of course before i make my proper opinion i will wait for full games until i make judgement but i can make judgement that PES needs new life based on it will be same old engine.

Something else i just noticed is that the defenders seem to just switch off and back away when you get within a couple of metres of the goal line, making it very easy to cut inside! Hope that gets changed!
A mate said to me that he tried the cut back and it was easy. Then when he tried it again in the same game the AI cut off his run as though they had learnt the tactic.
Haven't tried that myself but they did say the AI would learn your tactic and adapt.

Yeah, they did say that would happen, but they kept letting me do it! It felt more like a bug than anything, they just dropped off completely letting me clean on goal.
It could be stat related to the defence of the other teams. May depend on what star attributes they have for the players in defence???
I thought with the teams in the demo France had the best line up for just loading up a quick game and playing. Normally I have to juggle a team about a bit but if you look at where France have their players positioned they may turn into a pretty handy team.

Yeah Ronaldo only last 45 minutes but he's still awesome for those 45. Definately a player for the 2nd half. Fast and precise.
Haven't tried Adriano yet but stats wise he looks as strong as ever to get off the ball.
