PRO EVO 2008 demo market place

i really dont know on this one.....

last PES i owned was 5 for the PC, didnt bother with 6 as i just never seem to enjoy the game long enough.

however, if PES6 was poor on the 360 and this is a huge improvement, then im scared as to how bad 6 was ;)

my gripes (personal of course)

Slowdown
Ball Physics, seems to ping everywhere and is unrealistic i.e a sliding tackle blocked a passed shot and trickled to the halfway line....
Pitch is way too oversized, ive never seen such a baron space since WWI and nomansland
Graphics are average, the crowd must be on a repeat button as the do something, then totally change charcater and carry on
Doesnt play like football, i feel like i must force it and be wowed by things that really arent worth it
Keepers still live in a invisible box when diving

i had 5 things to buy (gamewise) by the end of OCT, and could only justify 4:

PES2008
Wireless Adaptor
LIVE Sub
Halo 3
NBA 2K8

PES looks like its the one being dropped on the basis of that demo

gutted :(

i don't think i've ever liked a PES from the start, because it always feels different to the previous version. Then u play it for ~2weeks and you love it.. always the way. 8 player student house f t w :p

Its really basic stuff like the teams are all wrong. Wheres Joaquin for spain? how come Ronaldinho starts on the bench for brazil? couldn't see maxi rodriguez for argentina either.

has anyone tried doing an RT shot from the edge of the box yet? i would like to know if they have added proper swerve and curl to the ball.

I just had a quick couple of games on PES6 for the PS2.

It seems a lot quicker and smoother. Will the final release of 2008 be like this, 2008 just seems low frames in comparison.

I've been seriously trying to get in to this demo but its sucks. It really does. Don't know how Seabass can make Winning Eleven and Pro Evo so different! I much prefer the slightly slower pace of WE and FIFA now, and at least fifa doesn't feel like the players are skating on ice or feel like the game has been sped up.

played some more, and i really dont like how the ball slides along the ground

theres no natural feel to it, no bobbles, it just glides nicely

whether thats the ball colour on the green background, im not sure.

online is probably the only reason i may stretch to get this, the game is never realistic or as fun vs AI and unless the Master League becomes 'real' i will steer clear as normal :(

The slowdown is obviously not going to be part of the real game tbh ppl...

im sure everyone hopes that - but if konami release a demo that has this problem, then people will rightly make a point of it.

PES has always chugged when the action gets hot, but im sure on this one, whenever something 'big' is about to happen i.e. goal, offside etc - the game will pause as it thinks about the next action.

I'm not so sure. Its only happening to about 2-5% of the people playing the game. I put my clip of it happening on a few PES sites and its about the same sort of numbers as here suffering the problem.

I wouldn't be surprised knowing the 360 that the issue exists on release and doesnt become more widely known until a lot more people are playing it.

My reason for thinking this is often on here a demo comes out and it's presumed problem A will be fixed on full release and it isn't.

"I'm sure the framerate/tearing will be fixed on the retail game"

Never has been yet as far as I can remember.

I'm quite into it now though, I think Brazil though are even better than last year. Put in Ronaldo and Adriano and I think they are better than last year. They seem stronger at the back and Kaka is awesome. His stats are huge.

I really hope that it's not, but I'd say it's by no means a foregone conclusion.

The problem, I believe, is that it is now an age-ing engine that is merely getting tweaked each year. We could really do with an entirely new game for 2009.
