Pro Evolution 2011

Well, that isn't the case any more, unless you are playing on the lowest difficulty setting/someone terrible online.

On the demo I think it was professional? Is that a setting? Well yeah, not the easiest but not the hardest either, the inbetweeny one. :p

He was an absolute beast, the defenders just never managed to tackle him. By the way, can you tell me which leagues are licensed with those unofficial patches?

Everything that had the wrong name and logo has been renamed and given the correct logo, so all the leagues are corrected now? There aren't as many as FIFA though.

They are changing the PES and D2 leagues to the Championship and another one so people have the choice of whichever one they like. With the patch the entire game is pretty much the same as FIFA license-wise.

More info on it here - http://winningelevenblog.com/blog/uk-wenb-of-released/

is it a patch or an option file?

There's an official patch and unofficial option file. The patch sorts out transfers and adds some new boots and the option file sorts out all the leagues and kits etc.

Cool. It's a shame it doesn't have some of the leagues that Fifa has, but that unofficial patch still makes the game that little bit more authentic and enjoyable. :)

is it still like pes09 (my last pes) where i have to manually copy and pasta 100s of files over usb?

wish it was like the PS2 days where one created a new iso, patched with eevrything and copied over the OF to usb.

Exactly, it would annoy the hell out of me, thankfully it integrates flawlessly so there is literally no downside at all to it not being licensed out of the box.

Yes, you have to copy about 50 or so files over, it took me just a few minutes, its easily worth doing.

Ibra is still pretty untackleable and so is Ronaldo but meh, I pretty much only play offline (BaL and ML) so don't have people abusing them online, and the comp never abuses them like they should so it's not a massive issue. The new through balls are rather shmexxy though, as is the much better movement up front.

Well I've just traded in Fifa 11 and a couple of other games for this and MAG. Just downloading the option file and the extra patch which adds some more kits and then I'm going to give it a blast. Quite looking forward to it although I see myself turning the commentary off as no doubt it's **** poor and I hate Jim Beglin anyway, his voice reminds me of soap. No idea why.

In fairness the commentary isn't that bad, its not a constant drone like on FIFA, and some of the things they say make a change from FIFA too, but its nothing great :p

k1ll, did u use your fifa activation code? if so or even if not what trade in value did you get for it?

I did use it, the guy in the store didn't ask me if I'd used it though, he just looked at the disc, which was flawless anyway. Maybe they just have a set price for it whether it's been activated or not. I'm not sure to be honest, I should have asked him but I was in a bit of a rush. :)

EDIT: Woah the PS3 is in desperate need of a "copy all" function. This is gonna take me all afternoon. :o

Haha, I got 'flowing' while doing it and it only seemed to take a few minutes, shame there isn't a faster way but its a small price to pay to be fair.

I think you need a slap Robbo. It's Jon Champion and Jim Beglin, need I say anymore? :p

Anyways, I've just stuck that unofficial patch on, now I'm downloading the extra in game content that it said was available, then finally I think I'm ready to play. Not sure whether to do a friendly or jump straight in with the Master League.

Do a few friendlies, so you get a feel for it, if you think it doesn't seem great at first (like I did), dont write it off, it suddenly feels 'right' after a few games :p

As I said, play A FEW games and then judge it.

I thought the demo wasn't very good at all compared to the FIFA demo, but the main game didn't really feel like the demo (granted, I wasn't playing as Barcelona) and after a few games I thought FIFA was poor compared.

My first impressions are good. It's better than the demo by a margin, the players actually make off the ball runs, the dribbling feels a little bit better than the demo although this is an area that does need improving, the passing does make up for this though which is a joy in my opinion. It feels very fluid and natural, especially the lobbed passes, shooting is an area I am finding tricky but that may be down to me holding the button in too long. I'm very impressed with the graphics and this is an area that Fifa seems to lag behind in, it makes Fifa's visual presentation look almost cartoon-like. I have only played a handful of games but so far so good, it's very difficult to begin with but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

:)
