Pro Evolution 2011

Sorry for poor quality. I had to compress it so the upload didn't take forever.

EDIT: Bah! It didn't upload the whole thing! :(

Was an awesome goal.

Missing the step over to make space for a rifled shot into the top right corner.

Put simply…

PES Goal = :D
FIFA Goal = :|

For me that's the most important thing, I've never got past the fact that scoring in FIFA feels sterile to me, but in PES it feels like something to celebrate.
That's my opinion btw, I'm sure there's plenty who feel the exact opposite, I don't want the thread descending into PES vs FIFA toss again.
If ever scoring in FIFA started to 'feel' as rewarding as PES to me, then I'd consider defecting from the PES camp, but as always I'll give the FIFA demo a go this year and give it a chance.

The opposite comes from the superior sound in FIFA. The crowd noise builds as you attack and erupts when you score. In PES, it seems to stay at a constant until you score and it increases a little. There's a lack of atmosphere in PES, but a much more rewarding feel from the actual goals.

In PES when you score, you stop hearing the repeated dull wallop while you seem to be kicking a sack full of hardened mash potato...

DUH DUH (score) crowd whimper

Just thought about this more - PES is the Latvian of football games

ps3ud0

Some of us prefer gameplay over sound and graphics. :p

The gameplay is ******* ***** - given this demo at least 3 hours - I can score more but they are all simple goals that I did in FIFA with no frustrating effort. The games just not fun - it has all the disadvantages I hate about FIFA but none of the advantages...

So your problem with the gameplay is that you can't waltz through for a clean shot on goal with every attack? PES is as close to proper football as you can get atm, and that's why people love it.

FIFA, while it has it's place, is arcade in comparison, and whilst I will get it for club, PES will be my football game of choice this year.

The last couple of Pro Evos for me have always ended up devolving into pegging it rapidly at the defense with your best player, or taking long range pot-shots. The build up tends to be a lot less fluid, and the lack of ability to start players on off the ball runs frustrates me no end. Yes, passing in Fifa tends to be a bit ping-pong (although that's apparently being addressed in this version), but on the plus side you can score some awesome passing goals as players tend to make the runs which are conducive to this. The lack of decent off the ball movements in recent Pro Evos drives me nuts...

Really? I've had no problems with players making runs. I've played numerous 1-2s in every game I've played with overlapping fullbacks.

What was the master league online that you were talking about? I haven't heard about that, but it sounds like a really nice idea...

It's the normal Master League, but you play against others online. Also, when buying players, the price fluctuates, so your mate may have bought Rooney for £50m, and you maybe buy him 6 months down the line for £60m.

The video at the end of the demo explains it better.
