Pro Evolution 2011

I have to disagree with the NHL comment, I find the commentary in that to be excellent and the last few years have at least added enough different lines to make the game feel like there is a much larger selection of lines than there actually is. I mean, if I play against Chelsea in FIFA I hear the same one line about Stamford Bridge every single game, sometimes multiple times per game. If I choose Nashville Predators for example, in NHL then I will sometimes hear a line about Nashville, sometimes hear about the arena, sometimes hear something about the current line up and the previous years gone by, how they performed in the playoffs etc. I never seem to hear all those things in one game, whereas in FIFA you just hear the same lines over and over.

:)

Agreed. Played a few NHL games and the running commentary is actually quite good. Adds to the game, and I think gets you more into it, and takes the dullness away.

I've played Fifa when it was Fifa RTWC or something, back in 1998? Was that when it was hosted by France? I can't remember, it was a really good game. Haven't touched a footy game since. Fired up PES 2011 last night, PSN + did the download for me, I thought the game was smooth, excellent graphics and addictive gameplay. But then I know nothing about football, I'm into F1, watch some ice hockey if I can, and play golf games...

So maybe it was just a nice change.. I'd buy the full game for the fun factor, not sure if this is a full on footy game for those who follow the sport...

I'm actually waiting for NHL 2011 and F1 2010 truth be told... Is Fifa 2011 meant to be better?

yeah i'll give you that point :D

i just get fed up with how many times you he shoot blablabla you could call it lightbeam but otherwise NHL commentary > FIFA one for sure

anyway if you're getting the nhl 11 on the 360 add me please gamertag: dr volki7 :D if you're up for some games

I am actually mildly tempted to not bother with a footy game this year, and just get NHL 11. I've played '09 and '10 on and off, but never owned one of the series. However, they are great games for multiplayer, and have a fair bit of depth; they're also a bit different. I haven't bought one in the past as they tend to hold their prices, rather annoyingly, meaning that I can't justify £40 on a game that won't get played as much as a football ame, but if I make it my main sports game for the year I'll be tempted!

I hate the way that, in NHL, every interception is "because of...anticipation".

Problem is you never get enough out of the demo to see the bigger flaws of either of the games.

I'm still yet to be convinced that FIFA 10 has anything over PES6 which isn't aesthetic. The richochets in the box for example don't come anywhere near it. I play FIFA for online occasionally against friends. But until they sort the offside rule out and stop all of the SKY 4 strikers and even Messi from being able to tackle like Costacurta on steroids taking the ball from a toddler, I won't be buying another.

PES isn't even as good as that for me.

Fifa 11 all the way. BAG looks interesting. PES 2009 was awesome, Fifa 2010 was fantastic. Bear in mind I hadn't played Fifa since 2001.

Something I said. Online is where the flaws become apparent while playing competitively against a human opponent.

Who really plays football games mainly against the AI anymore?

What was the master league online that you were talking about? I haven't heard about that, but it sounds like a really nice idea...

It's the normal Master League, but you play against others online. Also, when buying players, the price fluctuates, so your mate may have bought Rooney for £50m, and you maybe buy him 6 months down the line for £60m.

The video at the end of the demo explains it better.
