Problem Parkers

Nothing rages me more about parking than people who think the road outside the house they own or rent is only for them. Guy across from us has 3 cars and thinks he owns the right to park outside his gate and only him no one else in the street can its moronic.

I agree with you mate, no one has a right to park somewhere they dont own including myself! All my argument was is there are so many other spaces this guy could park that were in fact closer to his own flat and no one ever parks in the place i mention i know for a fact and he decides to leave his car outside mine....

As for someone having 3 cars and thinking they have a right thats really taking the mick

I used to share a house with a nurse, was fairly comical. there was a woman across the road who would on occasion park directly in front of our house and then my flatmate the nurse would come in swearing about the woman across the road and how she was out there every day saving peoples lives and stuff like it had any relevance whatsoever to who parked in the road

Did she ever dress up for you...........:D

I know i am being a goon about it mate, had a bad couple of days at work and i guess for some silly reason i let something like this push me over the edge and need to rage

I've been the 'Problem parker' before, all they got was a screwed up note. If they'd of asked me to my face to stop parking there in the first place I'd of happily done something.

Now I always park there where possible, although in fairness they have a 3 car driveway so I don't see why parking outside their house is a problem.

Is there parking available outside his house? Or does your house just happen to be the closest he can park to his own house?

If he could easily be parking outside his own house, then it sounds like he's being a ****. Not much you can do, but if it were me, I'd just keep parking my car outside his house.

He has one allocated space like all of us, he could just easilly park on the side of the road outside the flats but he chooses not to thats basically it. He prefers to park outside peoples houses.

Not going to go on anymore cos im sounding like an old fart :D

Stick a nail under his wheel.....

Something like this happened to my sister, she was still living at home in a large detached house, the next door neighbour parked in their driveway and didnt use any of the space outside the front of the house. She parked outside our house but the nose of the car was maybe 1 metre inside what the neighbour thought was their parking space outside their house.. she went absolutely mental with all sorts of threats..... Some lunatics about with not much happening in their lives!

If the guy is parking legally, which it sounds as if he is, then putting notes on the car hasn't helped your case. In fact, I would suggest it is more likely he will now go out of his way to park there as often as he can, I would.

You've got an allocated space, use it and stop stressing about things that are of little real importance.

if the guy is parking legally and doesn't have his own allocated space to park then where do you expect him to park?

sounds like you're the one with the problem to be honest.

This tbh, it may be a pain but it is totally legal. Where else do you expect him to park if he doesn't have a space?

I have an issue similar to this. I live on a very small newish development of about 10 houses. Everyone seems to have 2 or even 3 cars. We each have a driveway for 1 vehicle so naturally the road is lined with legally parked cars. Opposite a couple of the houses is an area designed for parking that will only fit 2 cars and I often park there if the road is full and I need to park my company car, which I do not take home all the time, instead using my 125 scooter to commute. Someone in one of the houses opposite this bay has taken exception to me parking there, stating that it is designed for house numbers x, y, z even though there is no signage to state this, etc. At one point they went as far as placing a note under my wiper asking " Why do you park here? It is for numbers x, y, z only". I'm going to be honest and state that I just threw it away as whilst I sympathise with the situation (I live with it too) it really is first come, first served.

As i had mentioned many times before outside his flat on the roadside where no one has ever actually parked before! You could park a lorry there yet he would rather park outside someones house? amazes me

This.

Maybe hes diddling your wife when you are at work and likes a short walk to his car afterwards?

KaHn

And an awful lot of this :D:D

Honestly dude, stoping whining like a sad little NIMBY. Public road, he can park where he wants. It's the same on my street, but sometimes my car gets blocked in on my drive..... Now that is a problem that can be sorted by the Policai!

He stopped "whining" a good while back. Any more for the OP blame train?

Ah the joys of problem parking in new estates, have a similar problem in our new build estate. We have a little cul de sac which has one space numbered for each house, and two visitors parking bays. Problem being out of 3 hours we have 6 cars so someone has to park outside their house.

Myself and my immediate neighbour do it if we need to, doesn't bother us but we've got a right ******** who insists upon parking in the clearly marked (with yellow box junction) turning bay which was put in so you don't have to reverse out into the street. He claims he doesn't want to park in front of his house as he's at the junction of the cul de sac with the road but it'd be fine as he can park mostly down the cul de sac side.

Police can't do anything as it's not an adopted public road, estate management company can do nothing apart from put up signage and it causes nothing but grief. The turning bay is clearly marked as such on the development plan and the builder confirmed it was put in to enable parking for the private house parking bays at the bottom of the cul de sac
