My PSU pci-e plug also has 2 oval middle pins it just seems to be the end of the extension cable that the PSU pci-e plug plugs into that has the oval and square middle pin

thanks again matey

You have a odd combo of a Version 1 Male and Version 2 Female. If you are concerned about it ask kul1 if the cable can be exchanged.

Though this will still fit and the contact will be the same. :)

I Have had the same issue with my new Bitfenix cables too.

I have a EVGA GTX 580 SC DS - No issue with this the cable fit fine.

I also have a Asus 580 (the first reference card not the DCU version) this has the oval Female.

I simply got one of those tiny little flat head electric kit screwdrivers and shave a bit off the edge. Can't get a blade in there as the surface is in the centre.

No major issue really. I blame the card! 90% of my GPUs have been the square female. This way V1 &2 cables fit.

@panyan: we do have many shipments to Europe and the stock doesnt get conserved even sometimes... meaning while still older ones are in the warehouse the logistic sends out newer ones...

I fowarded everything internally so they check and make sure there are no mistakes anymore.

Kul1 - I have had what seems to be the same issue, http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18559855. I will fire off an email to your support guys this evening when I get access to my mail, but can you give us an update on this?

Oops - don't use that email address anymore so missed it - email sent - completely missed that you were a rep too :p The photo above shows what I need with the rounded middle pin

I've also got the same problem, I recently upgraded from a 9600GT (cable fit that perfect) to a MSI 290 which the cable doesn't. I also noticed the colour on the 6pin is a faded red compared to the 8pin. Just sent in a webnote...hopefully they can send me out a replacement with the 1000W Superflower PSU I've just bought....
