Aye, didn't you know one or two isolated incidents means an entire product range is faulty? You should run away from ATI products as fast as you can before it's too late.

Right then,, have just tried using the VGA connection and it works ok, so why not on DVI??

There are the two DVI timing options in the CCC under the Digital Panel section - "Reduce DVI frequency on high resolution displays" and "Alternative DVI operational mode".
By default the "Alternate DVI mode" is on, and the "Reduce DVI" off.
May be worth trying to switch these settings and see if they have any effect - could be the driver is trying to use a dual DVI signal at high res when the monitor is only expecting single channel (or you only have a single channel cable)?
Just a thought, but worth a try.![]()
Have just tried my other pc which has a HD2600XT in it, and guess what!!!!
That to dosen't work with the DVI cable but does work fine with VGA.
Might try a different DVI cable, the one i'm using came with the Dell 2405FPW

This is now getting scary, I am also using the DVI cable that came with the 2405FPW.!!
I have just plugged in another monitor with the above DVI cable, CCC detects the display but I have stupidly put the CCC on the monitor that will not display and I do not know how to move it back !!!
Have a bad feeling it could be the monitor causing the problems, there are a lot of post's on other forums regarding ths model off dell and ati card using dvi and this fault and its going back a couple of years..
Will you have access to the Digital Panel section when you use a VGA cable?
