Problems with windows 7 installation.

hi Plec, packaging is 100%, and it all looks like new, no sign of ever being installed once i put them back in.
Its done 2 passes upto now with both installed, no errors :)

i let it run 3 times, all 3 passes with no errors.
THen i went onto windows and it bluescreened again.
I dont think i cleared the 'CMOS after the BIOS flash' because i dont know what that is lol.
Ive pulled them out now and re boxed them.
Im on my way home.
If they for some reason say i cant send them back then i will continue to test and put them back but its probably going to be a lot stabler and safer to run it with ram at the right voltages :)
Thanks for all the help, i will let you know if returning goes ok ;)

Plec it seams your always online, ready to help fix at a moments notice ;)
I seem to run into trouble with every build I do lol, its very annoying, but atleast if I make the mistakes now I won't make them again, here's hoping, HA!
No responce to my webnote yet, perhaps they are sixk of me sending about 3 a day recently ;)
Does anyone know if their number is free from a mobile as that's the onlt phone I have :-S

I can return the RAM its fine :) phewwww'!
Going to order the new RAM now then, the Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel, and then we can get this rig working! :D

I'm back and I'm p*ssed off.
The ram arrived. I've put it in, now I can't get a signal to any monitor, for the grapics card or the monitor port on the mobo!
I got one once and installed driver updates for the gcard then I got a blue screen and it re started but with no image on screen.
Now I can't even get bios, the screen arnt detecting anything! What's going on :'(

Iv tryed starting it up with no hdd, still no screen, tryed it with out the gcard, still no screen.
Does this look like the mobo is faulty or just to **** to power the system (though i doubt that its not powerful enough as I got all the bits ocuk do in a deal atm but just as parts to extend the warrenty)
Guys wats happening!
:'(

How do I clear the cmos, and would this void me being able to send it back?
And surly I can return the mobo, its under a week old and from ocuk.

ok, i will do that.
And then should i start it up with everything plugged in, or just the cpu, ram and mobo to see if it gives me a signal with bios through the mobo vga?

k, so theres 3 pins and two have a jumper on them, do i move the jumper over one, so that the center pin still has it on but now the top pin is in it too not the bottom?

ok, i have a screen pluged into the gfx and one into the mobo. 1 stick of ram and nothing else.
Im getting a pic on the screen plugged into the gfx but not from the mobo vga.
I says at the bottom of the bios list CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded
Warning! Now system is in safe mode.
Please re-setting CPU frequency in the CMOS setup

F1 to continue, DEL to enter setup.

should i go enter setup?

ok, i went into the bios and all i could see that realy needed changing was boot from cd 1st then hdd 2nd.

now i get AMD data change...update new data to DMI! Update success
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I have both screens plugged into the gfx card and both are reciving bios.

BUT i just turned it off and put the 2nd stick of ram in and got nothing!
Should i try 1 stick of ram in the other slot and see what happens? Maybe one of the ram slots is bust?

I think we may have a winner!
But im a litle confused now.
Basicly i get no bios or any signal at all to the monitors with 1 stick of ram in the 2nd slot!
BUT When both sticks were in and it booted on the 2 occasions it said there was 4gb of ram installed?
Do i need to change something in the bios to get the 2nd slot activated or is it faulty?
With the 1 stick in the 2nd slot im getting the same result as 1 in each, only getting a signal when there is only one stick of ram in slot 1
Also when i have a signal i can press the power button and i get shut down BUT when i have no signal i have to hold it for several seconds to get it to turn off.

Mem voltage is at 1.85
There is no bios option to disable the mobo vga.
Obv need to get both sticks working at sum point, im guessing you mean stick to one stick for testing purposes.

Hi, Cant see a jumper in the manual or on the mobo, must be an auto off.
What should i do now then?
Is there any thing to change in the bios to get it running or is the mobo faulty?
Given that it runs fine when the RAM is in slot 1 but it faults when in slot 2?
Surly it should run fine with the ram in either slot?
There no way or reason for something in the bios to be disabling the 2nd slot is there? Ive scoured the bios and cant see anything.

(thanks for the help again)

k. mem test comencing but unfortunatly i just tryed and i cant run a mem test with either stick in slot 2 as i get no signal on my screen when they are in that slot BUT by the sounds of things the dvd drive isnt turning so its not like its even doing the test and i have no signal :-s
Starting test on stick 1 in slot 1.

Yes it did run with both in but had several fails, but then ran ok speratly, so the ram was ok, looked like the slots, but took the signs as the ram was to hi spec at the time.
These 2 new lower voltage sticks have both passed fine singley in the 1st slot, but nothing at all in slot 2 or both in at the same time.
Does this now look like its definatly the slot?
Or just major incompatability? Cant be anything at all to do the the cpu can it cant imagin so, but its worth asking.
If it seams there is nothing more we can do i will ring OCUK tomorow and say to them, its still in the 7 day distance selling returns thing, but explain to them that it could either be major incompatability or faulty, but i dont wana send it back as faulty and incure costs if it isn't so i will ask to send it back as incompatable, but warn them it could be broken? This seams fair yes?
Like i said, this is iif there is nothing more we can test.

Don't worry, not going for one of these again, I've never had a problem with gigabite, always had em, just thought I'd try sumet new, never again lol.
Gonna have to buy some more thermal paste for the cooler now though since I have to take it off :-(
(Maybe ocuk will be nice and give me a cheap tube ;) )
