Problems with windows 7 installation.

Revised: They probably look the safest bet as at least they have a limit of 1.9v - some of the others go upto 2.1v but that's usually due to timing settings. (Just don't change your volatges from 1.85v!)

The timings are slacker than most of the others too which will give your mobo a bit more breathing space.

ok, ive sent OCUK a request for a DSR return, and i will order the Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel in its place, and then fingers crossed.

Even the OCZ Gold Edition PC2-6400C5 requires 2.1v - 2.2v to run - so you were probably on a hiding-to-nothing with the 8500's at those voltages… :/ (But usually you can get 'some' memory to work with a combination of lower voltages and lower frequencies - you were just unlucky.)

memtest has passed with no errors so the ram itself it fine, just hoping on this swap now.
?

Both sticks installed or 1 stick tested at a time? (And it needs a few passes...)

There should be no problem swapping it via the DSR as long as the packaging is ok.

hi Plec, packaging is 100%, and it all looks like new, no sign of ever being installed once i put them back in.
Its done 2 passes upto now with both installed, no errors :)

i let it run 3 times, all 3 passes with no errors.
THen i went onto windows and it bluescreened again.
I dont think i cleared the 'CMOS after the BIOS flash' because i dont know what that is lol.
Ive pulled them out now and re boxed them.
Im on my way home.
If they for some reason say i cant send them back then i will continue to test and put them back but its probably going to be a lot stabler and safer to run it with ram at the right voltages :)
Thanks for all the help, i will let you know if returning goes ok ;)

Yeah, you're better off returning them for a more compatible set - i was just interested in how long memtest would run.

Even if it had passed, test after test, all night it would have still made sense to get sticks with approved voltages for your board, especially, as you're having stability issues.

I've had sticks that passed memtest everytime but still proved unstable in day to day usage. Swapped them and voila system was stable...

Plec it seams your always online, ready to help fix at a moments notice ;)
I seem to run into trouble with every build I do lol, its very annoying, but atleast if I make the mistakes now I won't make them again, here's hoping, HA!
No responce to my webnote yet, perhaps they are sixk of me sending about 3 a day recently ;)
Does anyone know if their number is free from a mobile as that's the onlt phone I have :-S

I can return the RAM its fine :) phewwww'!
Going to order the new RAM now then, the Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel, and then we can get this rig working! :D

I'm back and I'm p*ssed off.
The ram arrived. I've put it in, now I can't get a signal to any monitor, for the grapics card or the monitor port on the mobo!
I got one once and installed driver updates for the gcard then I got a blue screen and it re started but with no image on screen.
Now I can't even get bios, the screen arnt detecting anything! What's going on :'(

Iv tryed starting it up with no hdd, still no screen, tryed it with out the gcard, still no screen.
Does this look like the mobo is faulty or just to **** to power the system (though i doubt that its not powerful enough as I got all the bits ocuk do in a deal atm but just as parts to extend the warrenty)
Guys wats happening!
:'(
