Project - Air Cube v2

Small bunch of night shots, couldn't finish off without these ;), just wish my camera could see as good as I can, can't capture how good it looks at night but it's still infinitely better than the camera I started out with.

so.... Is it finished now, or do you still have restless fingers? ;) :D

looks cracking with the lights coming though the fan grills, though I think the wavy aluminium bits are a bit too busy personally.

So what's your next build going to involve?

Thanks Monkey Puzzle, always looking forward to updates on Hush, freaking awesome piece mate .

I don't like having idle hands :D but yes it's finished, could have gone on forever adding & changing things though :D.

Chunky aluminium :D, new system components, maybe water cooling, maybe not, more diy action :D.

No solid ideas yet, just loose concept drawings, whenever something interesting comes to mind I'll do a rough drawing so I have plenty of ideas for something solid to start designing, with each mod I want to out do my last effort & make something unique, I think I've learnt enough to try something a bit more ambitious now :).

But will need a couple of extra tools to do some things, a router is 1 tool on the list, would open up some great new possibilities, perfect flush fitting windows, awesome joints etc.

One thing is for sure though, I'll keep posting here, TBCS & bit-tech & will make a new thread once I have a design, materials & a first update to show :), will be a while before I start though with money being tight.

Excellent build there m8. A truly unique pc you should be proud of! As others have said, the windows are a bit busy for my liking but it's personal choice so if you like it, who cares what others say right?;)

Congrats :)

Thanks w3bbo :), the layer panels are easily removable with them being put up with clear mounting tape so could switch for plain windows any time nice & easy, maybe I should have done the layer pieces much slimmer.
Ah well it doesn't look so plain now & I like :D.

This isn't an update, it's just a few more finished pictures because I never took any of the gaming tower.

Decided to get off my bum & try out the bits for a photo boothe, gaffer taped a washing line to a wall, gaffer taped the black cloth to the wall draped the cut in half shower curtain on it & stapled them to the washing line & clipped the light fittings with daylight bulbs to a table & a dvd rack either side & had the above light in my main light fitting & started taking pictures :D lmao.
One thing I do know is it would be much easier to set up the boothe & better for a normal sized case.

Only change internally for the air cube is a 9800GTX for dedicated physx which I'll upgrade to a GTX460 next week.

Cheers Monkey Puzzle & franco 22 :), was worth tipping my room up for the final pictures lol :D.

The ps3 fans are fine but yeah I got lazy with the mounts lol, did intend to file where they are mounted round to match the fans, just got lazy hehe :).

Thanks Paul :).
My next project will be when I can afford it, so got some saving up to do for a couple of new tools & pc system parts to upgrade although I'm still kind of waiting for a big noticable difference from an upgrade & don't really feel consumer pc tech has moved forward a whole lot since ddr2 & quad cpu's from gen to gen except for gpu's & ssd's so waiting for parts that will give a very noticable upgrade at an ok price, although if I could afford it I would upgrade right now :D.

Very nice work (thought I would buymp the pictures :p). Think you might want some air filters on the cube though - unless you keep your room incredibly dust free!

Thanks. Yeah dust can build up over a couple of weeks which I flick off with a duster, & every few months give it all a good blast with a portable air compressor, keeps it all nice & new looking :).

I can't see if this has been mentioned (as this thread is epically long), but how come your sound card has green on it?

Well spotted :D, yeah I never mentioned that :), I painted the edge of the card with green uv paint before I started doing scratch builds lol :D, I could take it off easily if needed though ;).
