Project Android

You have inspired me to make a Lego case for a laugh now.

Have not had a play with this stuff for years. :D
 
Hehe, already done that. That was what the server used to be housed in. The cd drive was even on rails, made out of little wheels, lol. All in the name of engineering of course.

You know times are bad when you're searching for other things to do and still wind back around the computer related stuff. :D

A lego case sounds excellent - I've thought about it briefly and am convinced it is the future of computer cases.
 
If this thing cools better than my PC7+, I'm gonna want my money back...

Perhaps you should incorporate some sort of paper shredder into the unmentionables... now that would be amusing.
 
buy some neon string when its all painted up etc, and put the neon string around the gaps/seams would give a really cool effect

Your project raises some interesting questions about perceptions of the female body within the computing world. A female shell with a mind, or cps, that is programmed by a man. Is this a stunning body or a stunted body? This female body appears to operate as an eroticized object of the male gaze. However the figure is fundamentally castrated. Is it an attempt to create the perfect companion? - A woman entirely at you disposal, physically and mentally? Is this project essentially scopophilic?

Your a Psychology or Philosophy student arn't you? :p Interesting post you made there. However I believe the purpose and concept behind this project is quite the opposite of what you have suggested. Although it based around the the female form, I want to get away from any sexual connotations as much as possible. Androids and Cyborgs have always facinated me, especially androids. As we are rapidly heading towards being able to create credible machines that replicate human behaviour and look, as well advancements in artifical neural networks, it begs the question of when do they become 'alive' in their own right, or do they ever? Will a machine ever be able to become intelligent enough to express self awareness, and if so has mankind spawned a new lifeform?

Going back to the question of wether the project is scopophilic, I would say no. However I do consider the the female form to be more gracefull from an artistic point of view, and as this is not only a engineering project, but also a sculptural project I felt that a female android was more appropriate.

Thank you. I was just curious. I'm not a student - of anything. Just interested in this project, and why a female. I do agree that the female form is more graceful than the male. It will be nice to look at. Good luck with it. :)
