Movie IntroProject: Angel

I'm still on the lookout for a watercooling sponsor so if you feel you can contribute email me at Richard at overclock3d dot net.

Time for a new project me thinks. The base of this project will be a Mountainmods Ascension, powdercoated in Sky White - soon to be reviewed at Overclock3d. It will then form the chassis for Project: Angel. The case is in the process of being built by the guys in US of A and should be powdercoated this week.

The colour theme I will try and stick to will be White/Blue, matching both the motherboard and the ram I already have.

I'm still in the planning stages of this but here's the spec accumulated so far:

Hardware

Intel i7 920
Gigabyte EX-58 UD5
2x6GB (12GB) Patriot Viper DDR3
Asus Xonar DX
2xGTX280
3x Samsung F1 1TB (3TB total)
Silverstone Strider 1KW

Watercooling

2x DDC Ultra 18w + XSPC tops
2x Thermochill PA 120.3

Spec will be added to as I go along:).

For this log I plan on doing the basic picture + text log and finish off with a video blog of the build.

I'll update the thread as and when new bits arrive and a progress of the mods I hope to do.

Let's get it on...:)

EDIT....

Well the case is still in the US, getting powdercoated so it will be a while before I see that, especially if Customs have anything to do with it.

Still, it will give me some time do crack on with a few mods;). Waiting for shiny new kit is just half the fun.

nice - look forward to it!

did you sell you previous case (black ice was it?)?

Yeah, no matter what I did I just couldn't get on with a 'normal' tower case. I got a decent offer for the case and I get bored easily so decided to sell it on.

Ascension is the win!

Also interested in how you get on with that RAM, as its what im looking to use in my i7 setup as well :)

The ram is very good, especially for the price, here's what I got when I reviewed it:

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, rest assured this build is certainly gonna be completed but as a lot of parts are going to be imported it's just gonna take a little time.

damn you w3bbo and your fantastic hardware :D

keeping an eye on this - love mountain mods with a passion - glad to see you aren't putting all that lovely hardware in a thermaltake mozart ;)

i did the ocuk review when we got the patriot ram in - the timings just kept on going down! will look brilliant in the ud5

Must say they do match the UD5 perfectly, but I'm not content with that so I plan on modding them ever so slightly ;).

I hear ya about the Mozart, I'd rather stick a spoon in my eye than use one of them lol (no offence locky!).
