Project : Black Ice (reborn)

I prefer coloured tubing tbh. You gotta remember that the more you add to plain water (dye, coolant etc) the less cooling properties it will have and there is also the chance of dyes clogging the extremely fine nozzles in some cpu blocks.

Dyes will also go 'off' after a time so are also a pita to maintain (regular changes to keep the colour looking bright). Clear tubing will also cloud after a while so that will also need replacing as it looks unsightly.

I've just upset myself by looking at your tiger style build log again. Makes my U2 look plain and boring :(

Once an upgrade comes out that is worth the cost, I'm going to have to rebuild it from the ground up I think. Major problem with them is that you need to route cables really well to stop it looking messy! Think at the same time I'll change over my tubing so it looks better than it does now, thanks for the advice.

The business side of the UFO is easy enough to sort out but I sympathise about the PSU side, it can look messy. Use plenty of cable ties!

I'm still trying to get hold of Mountainmods as I need to get a replacement back panel to make it look really neat (ordered the wrong one).

I think from looking at all of your builds, the key is to go with a theme. Just selecting blue and green liquid doesn't make it look half as good as if it ties into the rest of the case.

Yup, you gotta have an idea in your head before you start any build imo. Minimalist, colourful - whatever floats your boat really but having a plan helps you get things right first time around as you can stick to the scheme you have chosen with every component you buy. Obviously things can change as you go along but stick close to the 'path' and you won't go far wrong imo.

Joy:)

Thats amazing man, it looks awesome.
Cheers!

looks the nuts fella:) what are the temps? was it a pain fitting the hose around the GPU's?

I'm still having a play with the chip but thus far its sat pretty 4ghz 55c (load). I've decided not to go with the repack so I need to change the reservoir so I havn't really had chance to play much.

Looking gorgeous as always mate :)

What do you recon to white tubes, black coils, black board, white ocz cooler, white rad and clear leds under clear acatel ek blocks?

Kinda planning a very clinical white and black look.

If you are looking for that clinical minimalist look then I wouldn't personally use coils. They look a bit too fussy.

As for white tubing, it can either look VERY nice or a disaster. I was considering white tubing myself as it does look fantastic under the right conditions. Some of the golfball Eagle fans would match that kind of rig perfectly imo. Spraying a rad white can be counter productive as white does not radiate heat as well as black. It would look very nice though so it depends if you want performance or aesthetics.

I'll probs be going white with my next rig but for now, black is best:cool:.

You legend Pneumonic, i hadn't seen that. I love sharkoons, I have 2 on my double rad, 2 in my case and one i am planning on mounting on a single rad which will be sprayed white inside the case for looks. I have been thinking about clear fluid and no coils as i'll have quite a lot of chrome on show from the EK Blocks mount, barbs etc.

Webbo, would you be so kind to email me to tell me where you got your case powdercoated mate?

I've got a Silverstone TJ07 case and I want the internals doing. I was going to get it done white but I quite like the black now.

Loving your project and I can't wait to start mine.

Cheers,

RoEy
