I don't find the AI in F1 too bad tbh, as long as you dodge the first turn shenanigans I don't tend to have too many other problems.

Bumper cars on the first corner is quite accurate if last week's Singapore grand prix is anything to go by.
Didn't even make it to the first corner before the bumping did they

F1 2017 AI is actually considered to be quite decent bar the first corner. They are actually competitive for starters, I can put in close to world record times in time trial and I still find them reasonably competitive on the hardest setting. In terms of race craft they sometimes behave quite realistically in how they attack and defend. Still far from amazing though but that’s always going to the case with AI.
I mean what do people consider the benchmark for good AI ? Automobilista ? They all suffer from the same issues tbh

Trained AI in Raceroom is the benchmark for me.

I was playing with the new Ferrari pack last night and had a full track at Spa, lights go green and the AI next to me cuts across the front of my car and in to the wall. Every restart.
First corner smashes also (granted, not as bad as I've seen in PC2.), still - it's something that can be sorted.

Well, I thought I might as well give it a go for a couple of hours at least and bought it.

Mine doesn't mind cos she gets the TV to herself. I only know I've annoyed her if I take the VR headset off and find the mancave door has been "gently" closed while I've been playing without me realising it...
With my T500, big fans keeping the PC cool and my bass shakers rattling everything she complains she has to turn the TV up...lol I do like to wind her up...

So would you say the AI on f1 is better on pcars? i think for me the AI on f1 is the best i have seen in a racing game so if its as good as that, i will be happy

The AI is better in some car/track combos than others generally in PC2, turn1 is always where it gets messy, once you are past that they're not all that bad. The good thing is they aren't perfect drivers, they can outbrake themselves, lock wheels and spin off, you can tweak the aggression and skill levels to suit your tastes and see what works best. If you want a real test, turn the skill up to 120%...in the junior categories you might need to do that as the overall skill levels are scaled to the car class in career mode...you will also find if you start at the back, you can make it quickly through the pack and it gradually gets harder, the AI gets better/faster toward the front...
