Project Cars vs AC

Silverstone is superb gfx wise in project cars, it felt bland and colourless iin AC IMO. After some tweaking AC can look decent but it never looks striking.
.

pcars Silverstone

AC Silverstone

Imho there is not much in it. The only time when pCars does look striking is during rain - probably the most beautiful rain in a racing game ever

I took the dive and bought ac and the dlc today,so its just downloading now.
I was a backer for project cars so excited to see what ac has to offer,I'm probably gonna end up with both in my library(I really like pcars) seeing as this was the first one to go on sale for a decent price I jumped on it.

Any ac players on here?
What mods a recommended?
Good settings?
Any racing groups/server for ocuk?
I have a Logitech GT wheel.

This is the main AC thread, there's tons of info on everything there

1. Mods:
Cars http://assettocorsa.club/mods/auto/

Tracks http://assettocorsa.club/mods/tracks/

The best mod cars are Lamborghini Miura, some F1 cars like the McLaren 1998, Honda NSX, Mazda 787. I also like the Countach and Nissan 180sx

Tracks - I only have the modded Top Gear which I love.

Settings for DFGT - there should be some in the AC thread above.

EDIT: one last tip - almost forgot! :) - turn ON autoblip to help with downshifts on manual cars (since you don't have clutch pedal and cant do heel-toe), but turn OFF traction control for maximum enjoyment :)

What settings have I got wrong then. As my AC Silverstone looks nothing like that video shown. Project cars looks about right..

You're running it at max settings, right?

I use the "Natural lightning" post effect filters and my game looks very similar to that vid. Try them https://app.box.com/s/82mpmvsylmai31eg94jf3fwjlebc1xa2

Just unrar into Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg\ppfilters

and then select them from the posteffects menu (side menu in the game)

Lastly, time of the day and overcast settings also affect how the game looks.

Thankyou will start reading up now!
Will enable auto blip and will be playing with all assists off.
Yes need the top gear track in my life, also very happy a nsx has been nodded into the game absouletly love those cars.

after spending time with PC and its crap career mode I much prefer AC and will be playing more of that in future.

as an aside, why does PC force you to play the same track (in my case dubai autodrome) over and over in career mode?

all I want is a pc game with a career mode like in gran turismo, meh.

Not in terms of career where you earn cars and open new tracks. In terms of handling and general quality these are your best bet imho. For a more traditional "earn money for cars" you could try NFS:Shift2, although its handling is poorer than GT or Forza.

After playing both more so project cars(only got ac yesterday), I have to say most feedback people are giving is correct.
Project cars is better graphically
Ac has in my opinion better ffb and feels much better to drive and the big plus for me is the modding scene.

The career mode on both are pointless(all cars are unlocked from the start and there is no progression or story in career mode) I say this because it really shouldn't be something that sways you.

Haven't tried online racing yet need more practise.

I wouldn't be disappointed with either but I'm glad I got ac.
