To be honest I'm just catching up with all of the recent PC technology and I wasn't aware that they weren't going to be making more upgrades for the s2011. There is nothing stopping me sticking a 3930k and overclocking the nuts off it if I feel like my processor is lacking...which somehow I doubt I ever will, (well at least with this rig anyway).

If it ever comes to the point where I feel like I need to upgrade my processor then my motherboard will be getting upgraded also. I've tried so "future proof" the system somewhat so I don't need to upgrade for a few years.

I probably will go the SLI route once the price of the titan falls a bit or I can pick up a second hand one.

no such thing as future proofing in a pc tbh, you buy the best gpu now (Titan) and in a year something else will be around that performs as good if not better lol.

Yeah of course, but if everyone stuck to the idea that they won't buy something because the next big thing is around the corner then not much would get bought. I just wanted to get the most up to date hardware currently so it would at least last me a while.

Dont get me wrong, im not questioning what you bought by any means. i wish i could get it myself and i do buy the best i can afford as it does last longer but its just the nature of the industry that as soon as you get something there is something else out there

She does but I go by my typical costing formula:

what she is told it costs = (actual cost)/3

the 1155 socket is at the end of the line now. Ivybridge-E is still to come on socket 2011. I dont know where you guys are getting your information

I love that mobo, but I would use the XSPC waterblock for it. I don't like guns on mobos.

OMG OMG OMG Large box of goodies arrived today and is sitting at home!!! Not home for another week, plus we are moving home and the other half is adamant that its going in storage until we move into our new house in 3 weeks! Can't wait that long.
