Project Ethos & Cube - Desk Awesomeness

Nope...

That sabertooth is just my server.
Its running headless, altho I do have an HDMI lead to it, in case of emergencies.
And then I can just plug in a spare keyboard/mouse to sort it out.

But ye, its headless

A little taste on what I have been working on currently...

Its going to take awhile before I'm fully done with this, but I think the results will speak for themselves.

Hehe it will come soon...

Finished painting the mobo tray.
Still have some more stitching to do.

Was hoping for more time over Christmas but was really busy, unfortunately.

Any updates?

Hehe sorry man.

Started a new job and lots of changes.

Project isn't dead.
Still need to finish up the cable stitching (man what a pain).

I have clean out the loop and changed to a UV Blue now, will take some pics.
Got a UV strip as well and a switch for it.
So need to mount both of them.

But I'm thinking of changing to UV Green soon (for team green).

Got a few more cables to tidy up and hide away.

But hopefully should get some proper pics done in April if my brother in-law comes around.

Somehow desk builds have a habit of running long... and the line "project isn't dead" gets used way to much.

As a fellow desk builder (and cable stitcher) I feel your pain. Thank your lucky stars you've only put one graphics card in! took me 6-7 hours stitch my cards together.

Soldier on mate, its totally worth it, really nice build.

Sam.

Thanks dude.

Ye I am debating getting another GPU or changing them fully.

I also have to drain the loop yet again and swap out the Asus VI Formula mobo block as its causing some sort of contamination in my loop I feel.

I have a new EK mobo block here already (arrived today) so need to find some time to drain it all and swap out the mobo block.

I am pretty busy this month, but I want to try sneak some time in this weekend.
I also have decided to try using a different approach regarding the cable stitching so will see how they look ;)

Ye I may not be doing the stitching anymore.

I agree it looks nicer and neater, but man when you have around 300m of cable to stitch I don't think so.

I have found some clips that I am going to test out and see how they look.
Might end up using them instead.

Update time...

LED RGB strip installed, and testing it out:

Some cable tidying...
Decided to forget the stitching as there were some really awkward areas.

That's it for tonight :)

So The Baby Grand is almost complete.
Still have a few bits to do:
1) Replace mobo block with an EK one.
2) Clean out loop and re-fill
3) Different fan controller
4) Other bits and pieces

So got a few good pics done for now :)
Warning pic HEAVY!

Honestly I'm not sure...

A fair few bob, but I haven't calculated and dont want to calculate it :)

Ignorance is bliss (especially when the missus asks)

Not 100%...

Still need to change out the mobo block to a EK one, and running the loop around from the CPU to the South bridge, then into the GPU, so some more cable bending.
Clean out the loop and re-fill maybe with UV Green for a bit.

Also something to cover a bit of the HDD's, as I dont like them as just silver.
Might try some copper stone vaneer or silver stone, dunno yet.

And tidy up the cables hidden behind the gaming machine.

Lastly hide/sleeve the power cables going into the server so they are not like yellow/red and so on.

But yet its almost done :)

May want to add in another GPU, just because.

Love this build, did you finish off the last few bits?

Unfortunately not...

Although I have some good changes coming soon in the form of Dual Titans ;)

I have them and blocked already, but just need time to drain and clean out my loop and install them.
Also bring out the mobo and changing the block on the mobo itself.

I *HOPE* to do it this weekend but cant promise.

Man life has been so busy.

Also I got some copper stone that I was going to cut and shape for the 5 bare HDD's, but my missus told me not to, and she would disown me if I did :(

I kinda like it, and so does my mate.
But not sure how it will look cut down and small.
