Bit of a minor update in the hope it kicks my arse to get on with some jobs to get everything finished. Really lacking motivation to get on with bits the past few months. In the winter it was so nice to be in a nice warm, clean room instead of a cold dusty garage.
Since moving in I've been using Powerline adaptors which tbh work perfectly fine and I get decent speeds. However, I recently got full fiber fitted, so I decided to get on and terminate the network cables I ran from the sockets in the room to the garage side.
I now need to run my external CAT6 to the house and terminate both ends so give some faster speeds in the garage.
All tested OK as well which was a relief.
This is how my desk is currently configured. I spent some time re-doing the cabling on the desk as well to keep it tidy and make it stay that way when it went up and down. I've gone under and pointed up to capture the wires, but when stood in the room you can't see any cables regardless of the desks height.
Currenlty sporting 2x 24" and 1x 34" Monitors + Surface Pro 4 for some Sky Go F1 Practice!
I was also demo/testing a 49" for a few months, the picture doesn't do it justice, the thing was mahoosive! I actually found it too big with not enough of a curve to it tbh.
During the winter the room was nice and warm in quick time with the new heater, but there was a draft coming through at the bottom of the door. I wanted something to stop this but didn't want to permanently attach anything. Chose the below that stopped the draft well but is a bit crappy to look at and I constantly have to re-align it. On the lookout for something better to achieve this if anyone can recommend anything?
So now I need to tidy up the garage side which currently looks like the below. Plan is to tape and joint the boards, sand and paint. Then fit Arcitrave and Skirting to finish it off before kitting the garage side out with shelving to store all the stuff I have stashed away.
Also need to put a Window Board in, and maybe some 'perfect fit' blinds.
Also need to crack on with making the room a bit more personable and not just an empty room with my desk in. Currently awaiting a grey Kallax to come into stock in my local IKEA so that can be assembled and used to display some Lego & other bits I've got in boxes. Also want to get some shelves and pictures put up.
