Project - MAN CAVE !

Looks like It'll be great when it's finished! Perfect place for an OcUK black country meet ;) I'm only down the road and I can bring sausages for the much needed bbq :D

Have you tried a story like asking someone for one as a test/sample before you do an entire house? Best asking a manager about this. You can maybe fool them into giving you one for free or small amount of money if they believe you're going to come back and buy **** loads.

I've sent my Partner In Crime down to B&Q this morning with this very story... lets see what happens!

This is what a Man Cave is for!?! ;) ohhh yeee!

I should be in my new house in 4 - 6 weeks and I'm perhaps most excited about having a garage. Unfortunately, it's probably going to be too full of bikes, children's scooters and tools to be a man-cave. Watching thread with envious eyes.

You should have put plasterboard up before doing that :p

Yes, most certainly, haven't permanently fixed the base for the flap yet though (just tacked). Mainly finished it off as we have our house warming tomorrow night so wanted most of it done!... must clear out the cave a little bit more though!

Here's a few more of what we managed to do yesterday before we were rudely interrupted by 'Example'

Managed to seal the edges of the MDF and get a first coat of varnish on there....

We're off to Homebase tomorrow morning to get some edging for the bar top.... can't decide on if it would look better with or without skirting though (which I've already brought!)

Will certainly start looking better once I've moved all the cardboard out... who'd of thought you'd gather so much cardboard moving house!.... anybody want any? lol

It'll look better with a skirting board I think. Will just finish it off nicely if you stain it dark to match the laminate.

It's looking great so far!

Yeah i'm thinking the same! I'll just cut them all to shape and varnish, sit them against it to see what it looks like.

Its been on hold for a little bit... alas, the missus said other things in the house needed doing, that and a lack of funding due to having to buy replacement gear for American Football...

HOWEVER, the pool table is up, so I'll sort out some pictures tonight :)

Next steps when I can afford it will be boarding off the breeze blocks with a thin layer of plasterboard I think. Just to make it nice and tidy. Then move onto the floor, I was thinking of either some very cheap laminate... or even some vinyl floor (some of the more up to date stuff actually looks pretty decent)
