Project Scorpio .. early adapter or not ?

Nope. Updated both my xbox ones to one S (great value for money and didn't cost much). I will get Scorpio if it's worthwhile performance and game wise (for the games I play).

What about the bit of the post you didn't quote?

There will be no shiny new graphics if the games aren't updated, have a look at the compatibility issues they had at the PS4 Pro launch.

I will keep my XBone until those issues are sorted. There is no rush to upgrade as I won't be missing out on any games while I wait for the issues to get sorted and the price to drop.

PS4 pro now has boost more which seems to improve a lot of games at least with frame rate, even if they aren't patched. MS have had long enough for the Scorpio for that to be a launch feature.

Depends what console exclusive titles come out for me, so far pretty much anything worth playing on the XB1 has come out on PC which for me is the better choice.

If the Scorpio gets some new and tasty exclusive IP's then I may join the bandwagon but so far my XB1 has not been switched on in almost a year. Its a giant apartment block for spiders right now.

I can't decide TBH I currently have a PC, Pro and Xbox and use my Xbox the most (especially online). However I am not sure whether to upgrade and get that good 4K gaming downstairs (Scorpio) or just put the money towards something like VR for my PC.

Also plan on selling the Pro and getting a Switch but that's like 18 months away. Once I've played the exclusives I want to play.

It needs more exclusives. The PS4 has more games than I have time to play. For the Scropio (and Switch) to get a look in it needs games that look better that I can't play anywhere else.

If you asked me this time last year, I would say 100% yes. But now that MS have made all their games available to Windows 10, I'm very much leaning towards a gaming laptop. But I'm still being pulled to consoles with the PS4 Pro and HDR (for which I'll need a new TV).

The cross windows 10 & xbox compatibility is what puts me off the scorpio too. Using that money for a graphics card.

The speculative bit, based on the possibility of Microsoft making the same mistake as Sony with a considerably more powerful console and a year of hindsight? I ignored it. It might happen. It might not. Isn't really worth discussing as it's a non-issue until and unless it happens.

If that was your initial point then I think you need to work on your written English skills. It isn't at all similar to what you wrote in your initial post.

Besides, isn't this thread about early adoption, rather than pre-orders?

Anyhow, I'm done. My initial post was a general one, motivated by curiousity about the difference between how I see the Scorpio move and how others appear to see it. I've got no interest in a petty squabble over semantics, which is where this is headed quite quickly.

I'll play any Microsoft exclusives that tickle my fancy on my PC.

There aren't enough good XBOX exclusives to warrant me buying another Microsoft piece of hardware. My XBOX is a big black dust magnet.

Still, I can't wait to see this console pushing games at 4k 60fps.

I don't know if the exclusives on pc aswell has been a good idea for them? I sold my xb1 as soon as this was announced as I have no need for it for what little of them there are anyway, have to wonder how many potential console sales are lost as the games can be had on eindoes anyway?

I'm happy there's going to be another console aiming for 4K in that space though

Unless they can sort out their exclusives then personally...i dont see the point.

This is the first list google comes up with :

Retail
Crackdown 3 (Microsoft)
Halo Wars 2 (Microsoft)
[Pending] Mystereet F: The Detectives’ Curtain Call (5pb.)
[Pending] Natsuki Chronicle (Qute)
Phantom Dust (Microsoft)
Sea of Thieves (Microsoft)
State of Decay 2 (Microsoft)
[Pending] Shooting Love Trilogy (Triangle Service)
[Pending] Yomi wo Saku Hana (Experience)

Will current one owners upgrade ? Personally, i doubt it. Will PS4 owners take the plunge with those as exclusives ? Again, I doubt it.

Needs a massive E3 showing.

Wow, dat list... :o

I loved the first Crackdown but it came at a time when there was a bit of a drought. The sequel was awful.

Halo and Gears are at an all-time low point, with Gears being the ever so slightly better of the two.

They need some new IP's desperately IMO. Can't believe how far they've fallen after being arguably the better choice last gen.

I been gaming a lot on my Xbox one last year then for Christmas I got a ps4 pro and I've found I enjoy the ps4 pro much more. It's the first playstation I've owned since the ps2 and for me it's been a good experience. I used to be a PC gamer and spend £££ of pounds on hardware especially graphics cards. And I still have a decent pc but don't really like gaming on it anymore. And today I'm awaiting delivery of my first 4k TV. So exciting times. In answer to the question will I get Scorpio? Yes most likely if it turns out to be as good as the ps4 pro or hopefully better. And I'd like it to play my Xbox one games at a better frame rate. But I'm in no hurry I'll buy it for Christmas. Oh then there's VR.. Come a long way since my spectrum.

If it's backwards compatible with 360 and XBone and not silly money I will upgrade when V2 comes out!

I'll be getting it no doubt on launch, Quite fancy a UHD bluray player for my TV and some better looking games, Cant be bothered to go back to PS4 just now for a few game's.

I'm also so used to the Xbox dash now i don't really like the Ps4 setup, and the Elite pad is to good to give up.

More than likely, depends what's revealed about it.
That along with a new 4k screen hdr etc the jumps will be more noticeable.

Im interested but will wait and see what the final product is like and for what price. Im not so fussed about exclusives as I doubt I will upgrade my PC any time soon so will purchase most games on console. Not sure what capability the Scorpio will have but if its anywhere near an i7 and an AMD R9 290 it will be a good buy vs upgrading the PC.

I still enjoy using my PC but in the last 2 years I have barely touched it. Shame really, but I guess life changes :)
