Project - Scorpion (Lian Li PC-A71F mod)

It seems really good quality, but as I've said its my first build so I have nothing to compare it to, but its nice and heavy, seems well made, the fins haven't bent at all, even when I've accidentally touched them, in fact it didn't even need flushing really, I flushed both but the boiling water I put in both came out crystal clear, as did the deionised that I flushed them with after, I haven't clocked yet, don't know why, and also have plenty of cooling, a 280 and a 240 for CPU + single GPU is OTT by all accounts, but I figured you cant have too much, but CPU and GPU haven't gone above 25C yet, granted I've not really stressed them yet

I haven't clocked yet, don't know why...

I’m the same with a new build – i always err on the side of caution and let the system run at stock for a week. I like to make sure everything is running smoothly and that all HW and drivers are behaving themselves before i introduce a clock.

What are you aiming for with your clock – maximum possible within voltage tolerance or a balance between a respectable clock and low voltages?

Cheers RJC

Balance, main reason I wanted to try WCing was the noise limiting factor, so I wont be looking for max OC as Id then have to run fans faster, plus I doubt anything over 4.5GHz will be necessary really, so should be able to make this quite easy with low volts/temps and hence keep the quiet goodness

:D Cheers
I've put a simple mild OC on, 4.5, just literally upped multiplier to 45 and left everything else on auto incl volts (for now) which is running 1.27 CPU @ 52 under IBT max stress GPU running stock @ 32 running furmark (this seems very low?)
When I have some proper time next week I'll have a proper play

Well my mates been round and took some decent photos for me, though he was complaining about the light and insisting we should go to his studio, but that wasnt going to happen, I'll post them up right at the start of the first post.

Cheers

Already looking forward to redoing loop, lol

In a few months I plan to spray PCI brackets gold to match writing and caps of mobo, change tubing for clear, and stick in some Mayhems Pastel Yellow (unless anything else comes about more gold, but I doubt it)

I may also look at adding some lighting (yellow prob, though not sure if white would do?) inside, if I could set it to be on a switch so I can turn it on and off independently, as majority of time I'd prob want it off, but be able to turn it on now and then (when its appropriate to show off, lol)

Nice job :)

I purchased my PC-A71B back in 2008 with lofty plans of a major WC project (from Tom in Wales whom I presume did your powder coating?) Marriage put a stop to my plans . It's just a big sparsely filled monolith at the moment. Quite jealous of how yours looks.
