Project: Shiny N Clean

Yep, that's pretty good voltage mate. Use prime for a while to make sure that voltage is stable.
pll should be 1.8v
QPI/Dram 1.3
Dram 1.64 - 1.66

You might not be able to get more than 4ghz with these chips. Mine does 4 easily but seems to struggle as I go higher. Especially if you think your mobo cooling isn't adequate.

I think that you can push the bclk further, I have managed to get mine stable at 4.2, but at silly voltages. What multiplier are you using at the moment? It can go up to 21 (I think) or it might be 20 on the 920.

I read some stuff and I upped the V core to 1.35v and the QPI/DRAM to 1.35v, diabled C1E and I thinki dasabled somthing called HT (forget what it does) put the BCLK to 200 and the multiplyer to 21x and I got 4.2 GHz with that stable in primer for about 30 mins then I upped the BCLK to 210 and I got crashes in prime after around 7 mins so I upped the V core to 1.375 and it has been stable for the past 40 mins in prime95 with 1 core just hitting 60c.

I downloaded somthing called CPU-Z and what I think is the NB,SB, MOSFETS temps are...

SYSTIN 35 C

CPUTIN 52 C

AUXTIN 30 C

What one is each? :P

Also... i want to see how far i can go nd i was making my max core voltage to 1.4v is that safe even tho I have watercooling? and has somone know any good advanced i7 overclocking guide?

For temps, I'd use realtemp or openhardwaremonitor.

You probably could go to 1.4v but I got to 4.4ghz at 1.41 volts and found it wasn't stable. I think that if it crashes in small ffts, then it's a problem with cpu settings, if it crashes in large ffts, it's a ram problem.

Well I had to up the v core to 1.375 v to run 4.4 GHz stable (ran prime 95) for an hour.

and now ive hit 4.5 GHz on 1.4 and prime has been running for 15 mins, temps are maxing out at 61 C is this ok for 24/7 use @1.4v?

Loop order doesn't really matter that much. Makes about 1'c of difference. Your temps are great, but I wouldn't try pushing your chip further, you're really on the edge here, don't want to kill your cpu!

Btw, do you play Bad Company 2?

Can't really get into any game atm :( might jump on BC2 later tho :D

Ive read up and people say 1.4-1-475 for day to day use or 24/7 and you wont damage the chip going past 1.6v if you want to benchmark.

1.6V is a bit high i wouldn't go over 1.55V for a suicide run.

I killed a 920 with high voltages so it does happen (also took out the board so it could have been either taking the other one out if you know what i mean)

Its upto you but the only thing you get going between 4.2 and 4.5 is a bigger epeen for 24/7 clocks i personally would settle for 4.2 and get the voltages as low as you can.

I had a quad and a slim triple RAD in my set up (with a 4890 and full board blocks) and was getting around the mid 60s with IBT.

Well I hit 4.7 Prime stable for and hour but that ws at 1.45v so ive went back to 4.5 @ 1.4 and ive been running prime for an hour but when I lowerd it to 1.39 prime wasn't stable after 5 mins.

So you think its ok to run the system @ 4.5 GHz @ 1.4v Core voltage?.

I ended up running mine at 1.28V for 4.2Ghz, i would see what you can get at 1.3V thats a good 24/7 voltage for these CPUs but its up to you of course, the way i look at overclocking now is not to push it unless you have the money to replace it...and im skint :) Thats why im running my X6 at 3.9 (max temp after 4hrs prime 42 :))

4.7 prime stable is great i could manage some benching but it was far from stable.

Well ive lowerd the BCLK to 200 which = 4.2 GHz and turned HT on becuase somone says its better? and ive turned the v core down to 1.35 and ran prime for 2 and a half hours, all good :D Im not sure if i should either do 4.5 GHz @ 1.4v no HT or just stay at 4.2 @ 1.325v (currently testing) with HT on? I mainly play games so what do you guys think?

Im also thinking about selling my 920 and buying a 950 ? worth it?
