Sorry for the lack of an update, I've been sunning myself in Menorca for the past week
I'll be getting the decat section made this next week, then I'll get it booked in for mapping, depending on how busy they are that may be the following week.
Where are you getting a decat from Ben? I've been looking at getting one but I don't really want to pay £60 for a Tegiwa one. Surely it can't be expensive to weld 2 flanges onto a 12" length of 2.5" diameter steel? (same size for jdm teg and ek9 afaik).
I need 3" though, that's why I need one made up. It won't be a problem, I just haven't got round to it yet.
I have a brand-new 2.5" decat here that came with my exhaust, it's no good to me as it's 2.5", and it's the wrong length for the Integra, it's a Civic fitment. I have it advertised on most of the Honda forums ATM, drop me an email if you're interested
It's running fine, but it's on a rough-and-ready base map so it's not particularly smooth at the moment. I can't rev it higher than around 3500-4000 either, because I don't want to boost on this map.
Well, the luck I've had with this car conspired with today being friday the 13th, and right now I really do feel like putting petrol and a lighter to the ****ing thing.
Basically I was just having a little drive around, when I noticed a bit of white smoke when I pulled up to some traffic lights. I gave the throttle a blip and there was a puff of smoke and it cleared. So I gave it some more revs when suddenly it's starts mis-firing and loads of white smoke came out
I nursed it home with it firing on three cylinders, and when I got home I tried revving it again and it just belched out clouds of think white smoke again. I pulled the plugs, and whilst numbers 1,2 and 3 are looking healthy, if a little rich, number 4 is covered in oil. I'll do a compression test tomorrow morning and see what it tells me.
So it looks like I'm going to have to pull the engine yet again. I've just about had it with this car, I have neither the money or patience any more. I'm just tempted to break it for parts and have done with it.
I seriously wish I had just chucked a standard engine back in
