Ahh I see, overfueling perhaps then. All will be when remapped. My brothers 106 gti cammed is a nutcase of a car :D

Will be fully stripped this weekend and then cammed and mapped by mid may :)

Should go alright :D

I'm too lazy to look back through the thread, what BHP are you trying to achieve? 160bhp?

Yep :)

What weight are you going for with the motor?

Dunno about 900kg minus whatever rear seats, doorcards, carpet, boot plastics, spare wheel, rear wiper motor, standard seats weighs plus whatever carbon doorcards and recaro buckets weigh.

Don't need to have this bearable for road use anymore as getting a mk4 golf tdi for daily and trips out use! :)

When do you reckon you are likely to have it all modded up by? Taking it to the OCUK RR meet?

Dunno end of mayish but modding never stops until you sell the car :p

You know a GT TDi 150 makes sense ;)

Not really arsed about how fast it is - the more economical the better, the slower it is the faster this will feel :) Just want a nice 3door full of toys. Might even get a crashed one and put a bora front end on it.

The interior thieves have been!

Just gotta take roof lining out.

De-wipered and got a grommit from a old base model 106.

Gonna clean up this and put it in for now until my frames are welded up and painted for the buckets I am getting tomorrow (Cobra Imola 2's)

Cams soooon!

Looks great mate :)

Is it really a good idea to ditch the rear wiper though? Surely the weight of it, which I can only imagine will be tiny, doesn't offer THAT much advantage?

And now when it rains your back wind will be filthy and full of ****! :p

Did it on my first saxo, applied lots of car wax to the rear window and hardly ever noticed apart from when it was filthy. And the wiper motor weighs a tonne! Boot is quite hard to shut now cos theres now weight in it :P

Wiper motors are a good few kilos!

I never would have thought sorry :o

Learn something new every day, even if it'll never really come in handy in everyday conversation... :p

Hmm You could rip out all the stuff behind the dash such as heater, more extreme you could cut up the dash to remove wieght too.

What's all this rear hatch working business - rip the cylinders off and weld it shut for rigidity.

I agree also - take the stereo out, remove the speakers front and rear.

I'd change the glass to plastic, remove the window motors too.

Bet that sun roof wieghs a bit too, also reduces rigidity.

Lastly get a roll cage in there and additional struct for the engine bay.

Want to keep it useable for the road though, and also fully reversable for when I sell it. All that I have taken out can be put back in, but cutting dash etc will make the car unsellable for the future.

However was thinking of getting a non sunroof skin from a 1.1 or similar as they are only held in with a few tack welds and some sealent.

I do have to say, it's starting to look like a real track car now mate.

How much do you reckon you will spend on it overall?

Most of the bits like brakes and seats I have got s/h but unused, exhaust was s/h but stainless so didn't matter. Cams were in a group buy and suspension will be at cost price. Obviously a few other bits and bobs but can be all returned to standard and sold for pretty much same price I paid. Only bit that is dead money is the remap.

Car: 2200
Seats: 440 including mounts + harnesses
Brakes: 500
Entire exhaust: 220
Suspension will be about: 500
Cams: 220
Remap: 450

Still want an lsd though but that bloke sold the gearbox so it would cost me a pretty penny to get one brand new and fitted to a gearbox. Will keep an eye out for a box with one in.
