Project: Watery

Well, Guys, I've decided to slightly re-design the case...
I'm gonna keep the same appearance, but make the case 'longer' so that it takes an ATX mobo instead of mATX.. It also means that I can use full-sized DVD drives ect.
I had hoped to give you a big ass update, but at the last moment, revision two of the resevior went in spectacualr fashion. I was only using 5mm acrylic instead of the 8mm Im STILL WAITING FOR! but an entire panel cracked and then basically fell off...

Mind you, it was under very high pressure... This thing could withstang a DD-D5 on max going straight into it with no problems after 48h...

Grrr.. rant rant rant rant rant...

My acrylic still hasn't come.... So after a short sharp phone call, 3 sheets of 400 x 1200 x 8 acrylic should be here on wednesday/thursday at the latest... ( I only ordered two, and they are chucking in £20 worth of acrylic in becuase I think that they could tell I had been inconvineced by thier mistake. SOOO, if all goes to plan, wednesday will be spent cutting and sanding it down and then etching and gluing!

Other news...: I've decided I'm gonna go for it and have a crack at dual loop. Having seen the price on DAMIT's 3850/70's two of them look nice, and so to aid the cooling, I'll have a GPU loop using 8/10mm tubing, one of the two Stealth GT's, T-line and fillport, and a D-Tek pump.

The CPU loop will use the big custom res, MC-TDX, EK chippy blocks, Stealth GT, and a nice quiet 10w DDC.
I'm going for the 10W as I'd happily have the CPU a few degrees warmer if its a few decibles quieter.

Started work on the Res today, as the 8mm should be here soonish...

The acrylic was cut on a circular saw this-time. I did this becuase I needed practise with it for the 8mm, and becuase its fun

Then I drilled two 4mm holes, then drilled them out to 10mm, and then out to 11.8mm. These were then tapped to a G1/4" thread.

And finally, showing off the Feser Tube and barbs. This top piece is done in 5mm, and the two G1/4" threads are for two EK G1/4" blacking barb thing-ies to act as my fill ports.

More soon :dremel:

Good stuff indeed. Looking forward to seeing this one progressing. I need to talk the wife into letting me setup a workshop in the garage :D
