With the very kind permission of the World Of Warships team @Wargaming.net

I bring you my next build.....

World of Warships is currently in Open Beta stages and I've had the pleasure of being able to play it. As a homage of sorts I decided to contact the developers to ask permission to use material and themes from the game for my build. They were very happy to give me their blessing and promotion for the game. If you want to give it a try the client can now be downloaded by anyone.

Being a Marine Engineer I do like all things nautical, so I'll be trying to incorporate some design elements that reflect the ships in the game. I'm fond of the "Dazzle" and "Disruptive" Camouflage used during the period of WWI and WWII and will see if I can make that work.

The plan is in the very early stages, she's not quite ready for the Drydock yet! I can tell you however that I have been talking to....

I won't go into the details of that just yet, have to leave some surprises for you guys. Lets just say my Naval Architect (Tim) is at the drawing board.

I can also share the case. I'm a bit of a Phanteks fanboy so when I finally saw the Phanteks Evolv ATX I knew that was the case.
The case will be in Gunmetal as seen below.

I don't (yet) have the profile to attract sponsors, so I am funding this build myself, so please be patient with me.

I have the case on pre-order from OcUK of course. I will add to my list as I go. I'd like to go Skylake, but I'm really keen to find the right motherboard, I feel its the heart of any system. I may choose something currently available if it suits my needs better.

I know it sounds dull, but a totally battleship grey build would be awesome, inside and out.

Or something crazy like this:
dazzle-camo-2-450x184.jpeg

No gold?

I'm so jealous of that case :(

So monochrome battleship grey theme? Little hit of blue maybe? Think this is going to rock colin, where's the press gang?

dazzle is crazy - camo a ship by making it highly visable!
Unproven but in theory it make it hard to judge speed / distance by eye.
All pointless when radar, spotting aircraft and most notably kamikaze attacks came into being.

History lesson aside - as a graphic art form 'dazzle' IS visually stunning.
Zig zag cable looms, you know you want too.
Adding a 'bow' to that case front maybe (not sure thats a good idea actually but...)
Always enjoy your builds - and looking forward to this one.

Seems like a very ambitious project due to the theme you've chosen to incorporate. Can't picture it as being easy to succeed effectively. Look forward to being surprised. Really liked your Gold Enthoo Primo project.

I agree, but I plan to add some other colour. The dazzle design image you showed is cool, but too extreme for me.

I will never do a build without something gold for you all to find ! Yes blue will defo make it in.

I don't mind the history, I find it fascinating. I'm on the lookout for interesting sleeving as I type ;). The will be no additions like a "bow" I actually feel the front of the case has a very battleship bridge look. There will be something at the For'd End and I dinna mean the Bosuns Locker !

I just hope I can translate what's in my head and from the theme into something that doesn't look like a 5 yr old cobbled together ;). I'm glad you like Midas, hoping to finish its upgrade soon and get it back to Folding.

I have my "Engine" or as you know it the PSU... the EVGA Supernova 1200 P2

But it's such a great looking case, would you really want to do too much to the externals? Tough call imho... I'm sure colin will find the right balance based on his previous build!

Like the new sig btw :D

Just to clarify something there won't be a huge amount of modification. I can't see there being guns and funnels etc etc that sort thing belongs in a scratch build not here. Saying that it won't be completely untouched because that ain't my style. I do have a plan for something on the exterior that involves a rather hefty slab of aluminium that is currently on it way to my house. ;)

I only have the case, some fittings and a slab of aluminium on their way guys so it's gonna take time. I don't have access to cnc routers and lasers I really wish I had but anything I do will be shown here and it likely gonna be rather time consuming and labour intensive.

Stick with me guys I'm open to suggestions I think it's important to share with you all so feel free to criticise, ridicule, or praise. If just one of you learns something from what I do than I feel like I achieved something :D

Don't be shy :P
I can see some guns and cannons on there. Could buy model paint yourself ones. They're pretty cheap too!
Very interested in this build.
Loved your last build can't wait to see this one finished :)

On a side note, we just bought a large lazer cutter for acrylics, glass and wood.
If you need it for anything just shout, your only along the road. :)

Craig that's great news would love to come along and check it out. I actually have my brother working on something that meets your demands for guns. I just saw your FB post next build looks funky, that coolant looks a bit like what I was thinking to use. I want a nice deep cobalt.

Nice, tell him to step on it, we want guns! lol.
Although i'd normally go against using Mayhem's aurora coolants for the long term use.. It's certainly great for showing off :)
