Protein Shakes

It's always the same no matter what time of the day you go. Wake up a couple hours before hand here, and about 60-90 minutes before you go have a protein shake with plenty of carbs in, i.e. Oats. I have roughly 40-50g protein and about 100-120g Oats.

EDIT: Or of course you could simply have a decent breakfast :p

I'm rubbish at training in the morning! Much prefer to train later, get a full days food inside me, plenty of water and afterwards i can go home, eat a big tea then chill! :D

I go through patches of what you've just described above. I used to train at 7am, but for now I find it better for me if I have a few meals throughout the course of the day inside me before training.

Just had my first shake. Perfectly drinkable but could have done with some kind of sweetener.

Bunch of oats, stuck em in the blender until they were powder, added a bit of water, few (3, I think) scoops of whey, teaspoon of peanut butter, teaspoon of coacoa, bit o' milk and blended it all up and drank it fairly slowly. I would've put some honey in, but there was none around.

Was just bland really, tasted kind of healthy.

You should only really need 2 scoops of whey.

I hate peanut butter but I'm sure it tasted fine for yourself :)

Take them with water in the day, milk just before bed.

what size is your scoop? if its a 30g one then 3 scoops is hell of a lot :]

My scoop is "1 plastic scoop - large" according to my order history...

Had a few beers last night, feeling a wee bit guilty.

edit: the site says it's 25g, so I probably had about 75g in that shake...

Then two scoops should definately be enough.

Remember the whey may be 25g in the large scoop but most of the other products won't (if you have any) due to the different densities.

For eg, the small scoops will take 5g of CEE I believe, but only 3.8g Taurine etc.

Just a random piece of information there for you :p

So I take 40g of with how many grams of oats in the morning? I usually have a bowl of crunchy nut for breakfast.

Then a shake before or after gym? with carbs?

Then 40g of whey at bed time with milk?

Not sure about the shake pre workout, but a good post workout shake is along the lines of:

Whey (40-60g), Oats (40-60g), 3-5g Creatine Mono (if your bulking) and a flavouring of your choice.

There are other things you can add, some people add peanut butter, oils etc.

My pre-workout shake would be about 40-50g protein, 100-120g Oats.

Leucine, Taurine can be added as you wish same with creatine.
