Any rumors on it coming down, its been out over 2 years and is still high for a "next gen console" I dont care about blu-ray so to me its expensive for what it is offering, £300 with KZ2 no ta
 
All anyone can say is wait till E3. If they're going to announce a price cut (which i also agree they need to do soon) it'll be there.

[EDIT] E3 2009 begins June 2nd apparently, so exactly a week from now.

Its bound to go down in price now as I've just ordered one ! I was waiting and waiting for a price drop but in the end found a place selling tatty boxed ones for £220 ( 80 gig PS3 ) so went for it.
 
£200 with a decent game and I will buy one. I'm gutted I missed out on the last catalogue deal at that price.

I'm not desperate so will wait it out.
 
Tell me about it I think PS3s should be about £200 now too. I also think the PS2 should be about £30 seen as it's ancient now not £89. :D
 
I want to get a 60GB PS3 again :(

Sold mine a few weeks ago for £225, it was brand new condition too. I'll never be able to get one as good for £225, foolish decision to sell it.
 
Problem is, last i heard Sony still pulled a loss for every unit sold. It's all very well and good saying it 'should' be £200, you're right, it should, but if they can't afford to make it that price they won't. I'm sure Sony want to lower the price as much as everyone, pretty much every financial expert i've seen commenting on the product has said 'it needs a price drop soon' for the past year. Sony know it needs a price drop, they must do, but whether they can afford to do so is another matter.

Sony have gone from the gaming king via the PS1 and PS2 to the "we are not moving on price", why I don't know but the finance's must be bad at Sony Corp.
