PS3 console price

But we all know hardware can/is sold at a lost, media makes up the main profit and the fact that the PS3 is not pirated it seems silly not to cash in on the games profit.

I managed to buy a PS3 for £208. 80Gb brand new.

You need to check the deal websites and as soon as you see the deal jump on it!

I think the consensus is that the price will drop for the holiday season i.e. from after august maybe rather than being announced at e3. Maybe release the ps3 slim and reduce the price of the current sku.

I love the look of my 60gb I have a black glass TV stand with metal legs and a Sammy TV and it all looks like they were made for each other.

Spoken like Pachter! :p

Is that an insult or a compliment? I know not of this 'Pachter'.

Totally agree, but Sony managed to lose stupid amounts of money last year which i'm sure has made their shareholders far more wary of losses. With things still getting worse in the current 'financial climate' (ugh i hate that phrase) i wonder if shareholders are willing to let Sony lose even more money on the playstation brand.

Can you answer my above question as I would love to know the answer please! :)

Oh sorry dude, I don't know how I missed that. So far I've fixed 1 for my brother, did his about 2 weeks ago, And it's not skipped a beat. And my friend did one who's had it running for about 2 months. These were not bought and repaired, They were their own consoles, which unfortunately went south with the yellow light of dooooom. :p But I've not had any die once blasted with the heat gun, as of yet. Too soon to tell I guess with it only being a few months.

Edited due to me being sleepy and mixing stuff up lol

Aye but the worrying thing is they have lost out on a lot of disposable income and now every penny counts for a lot of people, I for one wont go out and ***** money on another console due to the 'financial climate' I really do think Sony are pushing for this 10 year brand. Worst thing to happen to Sony is the Wii, its taken a massive share of the market.

Thanks. Mine died recently as you may or may not know. Going to be heatgunning it tomorrow hopefully. Its my beloved 60GB and I'm considering not selling it. I took out the Continuous Play cover just in case you see. Might keep it now! (if it works). Was going to put it up on eBay but not so sure now... :o

There's a full guide which we used the first time here

Hope all works out for you :)

Tell me about it I think PS3s should be about £200 now too. I also think the PS2 should be about £30 seen as it's ancient now not £89. :D

£200 seems a bit optimistic when the 360 Elite is about that much. The PS3 always be more expensive than the 360, it's inevitable considering everything it comes with out of the box.

Not saying that it shouldn't be cheaper, just saying that it's important to be realistic.

Get one free with a mobile phone contract. That's what I did.

It's never actually 'free' when you do that though. All the contract + free PS3 offers i've seen are so much more expensive than my current contract you end up paying the price of a PS3 by the time the contract ends.

Mine is £30 a month on O2, phone was crap, but I got another phone I use anyway, and the PS3 was free, unlike some deals where you pay £xxx for the 'phone', and my Gran uses the contract anyway so she gives me the money for it. :D
