Hi Guys,

Iv come into a bit of cash which is burning a hole in my pocket, I have been toying with the idea of getting a PS3 now that the HD war is decided its making me think even more that the PS3 is worthy buy. Just have a few questions.

Are there any stand out game available yet that are truly AAA titles?

Are the new controllers bundled with them yet?

Is a new version just on the horizon, would want to buy one then a slinkier, better specced unit gets released the month after.

ive decided to get one aswell  mainly for bluray so i dont have the xbox whiring away, should be coming with drakes :).

no new rumble controlers yet no, unless you import them.

1) Not many (if any) yet - Uncharted maybe?
2) Not yet
3) Personally I'd hang on if your in no rush for the inevitable MGS4 pack

1) I'd say Uncharted is the only exclusive AAA, not even GT5P can be classed as AAA, because it's not. Uncharted is a brilliant, if not too short game, but everyone should play it at some point.

2) No, you still get Six-Axis controllers, but the new ones are better built than the ones from the original launch exactly 12 months ago today, so they're not great, but they're not really, really crap.

3) I don't see a reduced size one for at least 12 months. I wouldn't want one smaller, I love the size, shape and look of my PS3.

1) Uncharted is definately the way. Ratchet and Clank is fantastic and a must buy in my view. Also Heavenly Sword is really worth a go. Some slate it but its worth trying cos i loved it.

2)The controllers arent quite as bad as everyone makes out. Yeah they feel uneasily light but its alright. You dont really miss the rumble.

3)They may release a slimmer one. but they could pull an Apple and rerelease it smaller and cheaper but missing certain things. They have already chopped off the PS2 compatability and apparantly the memory card slot so god knows what will be next.

1) Uncharted, Rachet & Clank, GT5P, Hot Shots 5 & Ninja Gaiden: Sigma are all excellent games.

2) My Six-Axis controller is rubbish, so I imported a Dualshock 3 and it's excellent + it was £28 which seems pretty reasonable as the six-axis tend to go for about the same I believe.

3) As Nokkon said, I highly doubt we will get a different revision any time soon unless they decide to ship the white/silver ones over here. As for packs i.e. GT5P or MGS4, it seems that the better deals are the ones from independant retailers where they chuck in a couple of games and maybe a film for the same sort of money.

If you decide to get a PS3 I honestly can't see it being used primarily for gaming as you have a 360, but if your after a decent blu-ray player then it's definately worth the money, and you never know by the 2nd half of this year it should hopefully be an excellent console...

hmm, well i dont think ill bother then, Uncharted looks fun, but no AAA in my eyes, the standard controller is trulying horrible, dont even get me started on MGS, gamplay has always taken a back seat over the cut scenes.

Oh well, the idea of a silent well built console that also played HD films really did appeal to me, but im not willing to pay £300 for what would be just a Blu Ray player as theres no decent games out im interested in.

Ill hang back, surely it cant be that far off before the great games arrive

I value my PS3 more and more each day. Now Blu-ray is the HD standard it's become a must have purchase for any fan of gaming and HD movies and, as much as it pains and surprises me to say, if I had to choose between the 360 and the PS3, i'd be keeping the the george foreman dustmagnet :)

I bought my brothers 360 few days ago, i've only really played cod4 online and like how easy it was to jump in and play. I've had ps1 and ps2 in the past but been a pc gamer for the past few years. I cant get used to the 360 pad

I'm debating weather to go pick up a ps3 for £299, theres an offer at my place of work for a ps3 with fifa streets and army of two? and 300 on blu ray for 299 ending today tho.....hmmm should i shouldn't i :p

I haven't been a console follower for years now so a few questions if i may?

Is there a new grand theft auto out on ps3, if so, any good?
Is the ps3 wireless? Can i set it up with my linksys router and go online ?
Back in the day i liked to play pro evolution game, cant remember the exact one, but it truely owned. Is there a game as good on ps3
Last question, my fav games are shooters, adventure, maybe some horror (resi evil) football and rpg. Any reccomendations ?

Cheers people :)

There's a new Grand Theft auto coming out, It's number 4, and looks awesome.

The PS3 is wireless as standard, So i think it would work with your linksys, cant see why not.

Fifa is where it's at on the PS3 now, I was a pro Evo fan, But this time round, Fifa definately is the better game, And I'm sure you'll like it.

As for the last question, That's a broad range of games you like there, So you're bound to find something you'll like.

Uncharted for adventure. RFOM/COD4 and Rainbow 6 Vegas are your shooters, The Darkness would be a horror/Shooter combo.

Can't think of any actually horror games for the PS3 though, Which till now i've never actually realised :D

im going to Amsterdam Wednesday. as soon as i get back on the sunday... ill be resting then on the monday im off and even though i had a PS3 when they first came out and i hated the arse off it...

im now going to buy one for Blu-Ray, GT5 Prologue and defo MGS4 online!!!!

looks great plus 1080p and their quiet.

I have a Wii and 360 which i love both but u gotta get the PS3 now...

She was also in Jericho. (which is a great show, watch it.)

I didn't realise they used her from Jericho in Drakes!!!

(Anyway fellow Jericho fan, 1 more episode to go!!)

That Condemned 2 is out (this week or last week). The 1st one on 360 is kinda a horror game. Not read much about the one, but I imagine it is more of the same. (Although unlikley to be as popular as the 1st as that came out at a time when there were few 360 games out and was also given away free with a lot of consoles, which may have artificially increased its popularity).

As good as the PS3 is, all the good exclusives are on Xbox360 bar Uncharted. If you've just bought an Xbox360, stick with it for now.

had my 360 for a good 6 months now, and am tempted to purchase a PS3, due mainly to the fact that from what I tell is HD-DVD's are going to be forgotten about soon, and blue ray seems to be the way to go.

Are you predicting that HD-DVD is gonna lose the War against Blu-Ray? I am not convinced. HD-DVD is here to stay mate, not likely to be forgotten.

Well from what I have been seeing round shops and on the net lately blu ray seems to have the majority at the moment, and the fact that with a PS3 the blu ray player is included rather than having to buy a seperate unit to go with my 360...
