Why pay £20 for a Blu Ray movie, firstly it could be rented or easily sold on. Heck why buy a 1080p screen or even a 720p based one if your not interested in getting the best from it? Would you play a X360 or PS3 game set to SDTV resolution?
No, and I don't. I use HDTV's both upstairs and downstairs. I have Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.
Id think not and hell if someone wants to buy a PS3 and watch DVDs on that upscaled then fine, they DONT have to buy BD films just yet but i imagine they just might get a few (I am Legend AVP2 besides there is loads of good titles coming) I somehow think you will have a harder time convincing people to buy into HD DVD even if the films were £2.99.
I buy both, so what's the problem. If I can get HD-DVD's for £6 instead of £20 on Blu-Ray, then I'm going to, if something is HD-DVD only (such as Heroes/Bourne Trilogy/Matrix etc..) then I can get it, but I can get exclusive Blu-Rays too.
You also completely miss judge how good and how popular GT5P is...
Its worth getting the system for alone, for driving fans surely but dont let over 1 million pre orders try to convince you otherwise...
If that's to me, then I already have a PS3 and I already have GT5P. So I'm in a position to comment. It's NOT worth buying a PS3 for and it's NOT worth full retail, it's a glorified demo. A good one, but a demo none the less. It has a fraction of what GT5 will have for over half the price, which is the point I've made in the past.
Also when HOME arrives wait to see PS3 sales go crazy....
HOME, as I've said many times should have been out at launch of the console. It's bringing its online section up to the same level as Xbox360 has had for over 2 years.
You're commenting on PS3 and Blu-Ray issues as if I don't have them, I do. I took the option to get a HD-DVD player for cheaper movies that are equal to PS3. Why would I pay £20 for a Blu-Ray when I can pay 1/4 the price? So what if it's a dying format, it's the same film in the same standard for less, is that hard to understand?
Renting movies isn't something that's been done in this household, not by my parents, nor by myself. Several hundred DVD's, Over 30 TV shows on DVD and several Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs.
Call it that sure but thats just your uninformed opinion.
I could compare it to many games where it contains more cars and content. Besides many full price games offer 5-12 hours before completion. This offers a lot more than that.
Call his opinion 'uninformed' all you want, mine isn't. I've owned it since it was out and have played it a lot. It's £25 on PSN, not £18, so it's £25 from Sony.
As for games featuring more cars, not many are coming to mind this generation. PGR3, PGR4, Forza2, Test Drive Unlimited are all serious driving games that all feature more cars. All of which can be bought for less than GT5P on launch (although they were full retail £40 when launched), but they all featured what I'd say was £40 worth of content too. I wouldn't say GT5P features £25 of content in comparison.
It IS an extended demo.
