PS4 and Xbox Rumours

New rumours today. Not sure what to make of these at all.

You are not required to be connected to the internet in order to play Durango games and MS were NEVER considering doing such a thing.

Every Durango ships with a Xbox 360 SOC. Devs can use the 360 SOC in parallel with the original Durango hardware. What does this mean in basic terms? Well, apart from Durango having 100% BC with the 360, it also increases Durango's processing power a fair amount.

I don't see how on earth a 360 SOC would improve the performance of the Nextbox. Surely you would have to have some crazy complex coding and system configuration for an x64 based cpu to work in tandem with a 360 based architecture? Why bother?

I don't think it would help the game but depending on how clever/easy it is to code it could do the system level stuff like game recording, OS stuff and apps.

I'm not sure how easy that is to do though and how much it would eat into the Nextbox memory etc.

Plus they aren't going to do any special 360 SOC coding if it makes their game less portable to other systems.

So in reality it'll probably only get used for backwards compatibility.
