PSP memory cards

LOL. If you're moaning about the price of memory sticks, I can see you moaning about buying games as well... Hmmm.

using a 8gig fake, no probs with it......at the moment, lol

Can you put 8GB of data onto it though? The usual thing they do with the fakes ones is to make it register in the PSP as double what it really is - then you're left scratching your head when it fills up at 4GB.

I have even bought RAM of ebay which has only been half of what Windows showed it as being.

I have a legit 8GB card in my PSP and it's mad how many games you can get onto it ;)

yes i can, i know its fake because it doesn't say magicgate when you press triangle on the menu on the memcard details, it just says unknown. But have no issue's with it, everything works as it should and have had it 4 months now

Aren't psp .iso's aroud the 1gb mark?

Who need's .iso's? :p ;)

Some of them are bigger. 1.6GB is the biggest I have seen, but there are loads which are actually really small. Like 90MB small - makes you wonder why you needed a whole UMD to store it on.!!!

Its quite shocking how padded some UMD games are. Ripkits bring down the majority of PSP games to around 400Mb. I read somewhere that they pad them to keep all the data on the outer edge of the disc so the disc doesnt have to be spun as much in-order to retract data, resulting in faster load times. Aint sure if thats true though.

yeh and then running the game from memory stick is faster at loading and no wear and tear on original umd and the psp's laser and requires less power which means longer battery life :)

i would not pay over 20 pounds for a 4 gig stick and 16 gig sticks are available but with daft prices they will drop when the 32 gig sticks become standard.

there is a add on that lets you use standard sd cards but it sucks.

I think I read in an earlier thread that there is an adapter for the PSP that converts Micro SD cards to Memorysticks so that you can use Micro SD cards in the PSP but I haven't seen them anywhere.

I have a 4GB memorystick and I am constantly swapping games to and from the stick, it's just too small :(

whatever you do, don't buy any from the rainforest 3rd party dealers or the electric bay, 99% of them will be fakes

it's around £40 for 8gb ones, which is a bargain

16gb ones are out now too

the fake ones are rubbish, they corrupt easily and are slow

i reported the guy who sold me a fake, in the end i had a full refund and a real one :D

-edit, what are the speeds like on the m2 cards?

Just got my PSP slim today along with GOW. Kinda annoying as I thought it had internal memory to save games. Will have to wait for my 2gb stick to arrive before using the PSP. Its pretty much useless without any storage.

That's what I did. Got my PSP with Crisis Core and couldn't play it until the card arrived

It didn't even come with a usb cable! I didn't bother researching these things as I didn't think sony would low ball you by not including these things in the box. They could have just gave you a 32mb stick to start off with.
